WAREPA Road Board.—Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, on or before 1st March, 1872.—D. P. MILLIGAN, collector. Warepa, January 23, 1872.
JACOB’S RIVER Road District.—Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, Steven’s Bush, on or before the 12th February, 1872. For the convenience of ratepayers I will attend at Gummis’s Bush School-house, on Saturday, 3rd February, 1872, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—A. CASSER, Clerk and Collector.
NOTICE.—The Ratepayers of the N.E. Harbor and Broad Bay Road Districts are hereby notified that they must pay their respective rates to me, at my residence, on or before Monday, the 12th February next, otherwise legal proceedings will be taken to recover the same.—ROBT. RAYNEARD, Collector.
HENLEY Road District.—Notice. The Assessment Roll of this District lies for inspection for fourteen days from this date at the house of Mr Alexander Fleming, within the said district.—PETER LITTLE, Clerk. Henley, 3rd February, 1872.
PENALTY £20.
POUNDKEEPERS.—Several Poundkeepers having neglected to make their Returns as required by the Impounding Ordinance, are reminded that penalty for such neglect is £20, which will be enforced if the returns are not made forthwith.

IMPOUNDED on the 1st day of February, 1872, by Mr. James Smith, of Waitahuna West, nine head of cattle, branded as under, for trespassing on his Run, No. 106, for which no damages are claimed; and, in default of being released, the cattle will be sold at the public Pound, at Waitahuna West, on Friday, the 23rd February, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon:—One red steer, two year, branded I H off rib; one spotted cow, branded W o off rump; one white cow, branded P B off rump; one year strawberry steer, branded T D off rump; one red cow, white back, blotch brand off thigh; one red two-year old steer, branded ID off rump, VD near rump; one year strawberry steer, branded H in circle, off rump; one spotted cow with red calf, branded W 3 off rump, blotch brand near rump.—PETER SCOTT, Poundkeeper, Waitahuna West.
IMPOUNDED on the 30th day of January, 1872, by order of Mr. M. Curry, one red and white steer, branded like AY (conjoined) off rump, slit off ear; owner unknown, for trespassing on growing crop, for which £1 damage is claimed; and, in default of being released, the above steer will be sold at the public Pound at Papakaio, on the 23rd day of February, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—JAMES DALZIELL, Poundkeeper of the Papakaio Pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 29th day of January, 1873, one brown gelding, branded like < (with stroke down centre) C near shoulder, star and snip, near hind foot white, by Mr. J. D. Ferard, Monte Christo Farm, Clyde; owner unknown, for trespassing on farm, for which no damages are claimed; and, in default of being released, the above gelding will be sold at the public Pound at Leaning Rock, Clyde, on Friday, the 23rd day of February, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—WILLIAM WILLIAMS, Poundkeeper of the Leaning Rock, Clyde, Pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 23rd January, 1872, by William Cochran, one black horse, branded off neck, owner unknown, for trespassing on oat paddocks, for which no damages are claimed; and, in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the public pound at Palmerston, on Friday, the 23rd Feb., 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—J. IMPOUNDED on the 27th January, 1872, by the Police, one red steer, white belly, branded like D off rump, owner unknown, for wandering on the streets, for which no damages are claimed; and, in default of being released, the above steer will be sold at the public pound at Oamaru, on Friday, 23rd February, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—JOHN GRAY, poundkeeper of the Oamaru pound.
IMPOUNDED on the 5th February, 1872, by Mr. John Irving, Ranger, one black and white bullock, blotch brand off ribs, owner unknown, for trespassing on Waihola Hundred, for which twenty shillings damages are claimed, and in default of being released, the above bullock will be sold at the public pound at Tokomairiro, on Friday, 23rd February, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon.—JAMES GOODALL, poundkeeper of the Tokomairiro pound.
TOKOMAIRIRO POUND.—The dark bay colt branded I near neck, that was to be sold on Friday, the 9th February, 1872, has been claimed.—JNO. GOODALL.
GAZETTE.—Complaints respecting the non-receipt of the Gazette, if made to J. Logan, Superintendent’s Office, Dunedin, will receive immediate attention. Each person will please see that the nearest Post Town is given in his address.
STOLEN or Strayed, from Totara Station, in June last, a light bay mare, three years old, branded H C off shoulder, with blaze on face. £5 reward, and £5 on conviction.—R. MACAULAY.
