AIKORAI Road Board.—Wanted Tenders for formation and culvert on road line through sections 13 and 50, Dunedin and East Taieri District. Mr Sonntag will be on the ground on Monday, the 19th, at 10 o’clock a.m., to show the work; and also, Tenders for certain formation and metal on road from Valley to Mornington, for which work Mr Barr will give all necessary information, and with whom all tenders must be lodged on or before Thursday, the 22nd.—J. WANTED, a Schoolmaster for Kaitangata School. Salary: £75, with school fees and residence. Applications to be lodged with R. Macdonald up to the end of February next. School to be opened on the 1st April, 1872.
WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.
NOTICE to APPLICANTS for UNSURVEYED LAND under “Otago Waste Lands Act 1866.”—The Sections in the subjoined Schedule, being now Surveyed, the applicants are informed that the Waste Land Board will give its decision on their applications at this Office on Wednesday, the 14th day of February, 1872, at 12 o’clock noon; on or before which day, objections to the survey, if any, must be made. In the event of the applications being granted, the purchase money must be paid forthwith:

NOTICE is hereby given that Section 18, Block VII, Oamaru District, containing 63a 3r 27p, and 48, Block VI, Awamoko District, containing 10a 1r 16p, will be offered for sale by public auction, by Mr Samuel Shrimski, at his auction rooms Oamaru, on Thursday, the 7th day of March, 1872, at noon, at the upset price of £2 per acre.

NOTICE is hereby given that the remaining parts 5 and 7, Block XI, containing respectively 49a 0r 20p and 47a 2r 20p, and Sections 8 and 9, Block XI, Clutha district, containing respectively 49a 1r and 49a 1r 24p, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Crown Hotel, Balclutha, on Thursday, the 7th day of March, 1872, at noon, at the upset price of 10s per acre.
PROVINCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS.
THE Education Board has authorized the offering of Three Scholarships for competition; one for High School Pupils, and two for Boys who attended the District Schools in 1871. The examination will probably take place in February. Particulars will be given in next issue.

PROVINCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS.—The following Regulations of the Education Board respecting Provincial Scholarships are published for general information. School masters are requested to forward to me, before the 26th February, 1872, a list containing the names and ages of intending competitors belonging to their several schools.

REGULATIONS.

Three Scholarships, in connection with the High School, shall be open for competition on the 27th of February, 1872, to boys who shall have been in attendance at the public schools of Otago during the year 1871. Two of the said Scholarships shall be bestowed on boys from the District Schools, and one on a boy who has attended the High School. Competitors must be under fourteen years of age at the date of the competition.

The holders for the time being of the said Scholarships shall be called “Provincial Scholars,” and shall be entitled to the privileges and advantages hereinafter specified. A Scholarship shall be tenable as long as the holder of it remains a pupil of the High School, but not longer than five years.
