TIME FOR RECEIVING TENDERS POSTPONED

TO 13TH FEBRUARY.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Tuesday, 13th February, for—

Contract No. 557—Construction of a Court House at Cromwell.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or, at the District Engineer’s Office, Cromwell.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 557.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Friday, 9th February, for contract No. 571—forming a bridle track between George’s store, Kyeburn, and the Township of the Marewhenua Diggings. “Marewhenua to Mount Ida Diggings through the Marewhenua Pass.”

Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Police Station, Naseby.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 571.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Friday, 9th February, for Contract No. 573—gravelling 99 chains of road, “Camp” Reserve, Waitahuna, to John’s store.

Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Police Station, Waitahuna.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 573.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Friday, 9th February, for Contract No. 574—gravelling 30 chains of the road, “Southern Trunk to Kaitangata.”

Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Police Station, Balclutha.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 574.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Friday, 9th February, for Contract No. 572—forming approach to Puerua bridge, and erection of bridge over Brady Creek, Port Molyneux.

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Police Station, Balclutha.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 572.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

CONTRACTS FOR WHICH PAYMENTS ARE TO BE MADE IN LAND.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Friday, 16th February, for—

Contract No. 575—Supply of 1360 cubic yards of road metal, including spreading and boxing.

Specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, or at the Police Station, Oamaru.

Tenders will be received at the office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Friday, the 16th February, for—

Contract No. 576—Construction of a portion of road “Dougherty’s Hotel to Fitzgerald’s Store, Tuapeka.”

Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of tender obtained at the office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, or at the Police Station, Tuapeka.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contracts No. 575 or 576,” as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

OSLYN Road Board.—Wanted, Tenders for the formation of a portion of Kilgour street, Roslyn. Specifications, &c., to be seen at the residence of the Chairman, A. H. Ross, Esq. Tenders will be received on or before the 8th February, at 7.30 p.m. 10 per cent deposit. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—H. P. MACKLIN, Clerk.

LOCAL INDUSTRIES.—Notice.—W. A. Murray, Esq., M.H.R., Glenore, has been appointed Member for Otago of the Colonial Industries Committee. Mr Murray will be happy to receive communications from persons interested in establishing New Industries, and in developing the material resources of the Province.

NOTICE.—Public attention is called to the provisions of “The Sale of Poisons Act 1871,” which comes into force on the 1st January, 1872. By section 4 of the said Act it is unlawful for any person to sell or keep open shop for retailing, dispensing, or compounding poisons in any part of New Zealand, unless such person shall first be registered.

The undersigned has been appointed Registrar under the Act for the Province of Otago, exclusive of that portion comprised in the former Province of Southland.

NOTICE is hereby given that Section 6, Block I, Awamoko District, containing 177 acres 2 roods, and Section 73, Block V, Oamaru District, containing 4 acres 2 roods, formerly reserved for quarry purposes, will be offered for sale by public auction, by Mr Samuel Shrimski, at his auction rooms, Oamaru, on Monday, the 19th day of February 1872, at noon, the former at the price of £1 per acre, the latter as land of special value at the upset price of 21s per acre.
