PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IN Conformity to the 29th Section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," and to the Regulations made under that Act and the "Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts of 1867, 1868, and 1869," for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Lawrence, on or before the 17th day of January, 1872.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden's Office at Lawrence.
Given under my hand, at Dunedin, this 29th day of December, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works until noon of Tuesday, 16th January, 1872, for
Contract No. 541—Construction of a Timber Bridge over the Kakaho Stream, Main North Road
Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, or at the Police Station, Hampden.
Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 541."
The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

SANDYMOUNT Road District.—Tenders are invited for clearing bush, and formation and metal on several Road lines. The inspectors will meet the contractors at the Lime Kilns, at 12 o’clock on the 10th January, 1872, to show works and specifications, and receive tenders up till four o’clock, p.m. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.—Geo.
