Notice is hereby given that the Board are prepared to pay to Andrew Mason, at his house, their respective rates, in one payment, on or before the 10th November. A Mason has authorised the clerk of the Board to collect rates also.—Thos. C. Bunt,

INCH CLUTHA POUND.

The cattle advertised to be sold at the above Pound 1st on December, 1871, have been claimed.

IMPOUNDED

on the 9th day of November, 1871, by the Police:—1 known horse, branded S off shoulder, own; unknown, trespassing on road, line for which 2s. 6d. is claimed; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at Inch Clutha, on Friday, the 8th day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—F. Bassett, Poundkeeper of the Inch Clutha Pound.

IMPOUNDED

on the 14th day of November, 1871, by William Dunn, Esq.: one strawberry cow, branded W H off rump; one white heifer, S T R off rump; one strawberry cow, C M off rump; one red and white heifer, W off rump; one white heifer; one red cow, like V off rump; one strawberry bull, one year old, no brand; for trespassing on his paddocks. Impounded by Peter McGill, Esq., branded P G near shoulder; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, at Tokomairi, on Friday, the 8th day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—James Goodall, Poundkeeper of the Tokomairi Pound.

on the 14th day of November, 1871, by Mr. Hugh McMaster: one white heifer, branded W (conjoined) off rump; one red heifer, white belly and tail, no brand, for trespassing in paddock. Also by Mr. Geddis: one red bullock, branded J S near rump; for trespassing in garden. Also, on the 16th November, by James Purvis: one white heifer, branded A P off rump; on the 17th, one red cow, branded O off rump; calf at foot; one red and white cow, no visible brand; for trespassing in grass paddock; owners unknown, for which no damage is claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at East Taieri, on the 8th day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—James Purvis, Poundkeeper of the East Taieri Pound.

IMPOUNDED

on the 6th of November, 1871, by Mr. Lachlan M’Lean: one old red cow, branded C H off rump; one red and white year old heifer, no brand; one roan heifer, branded like L off ribs; one light red and white yearling heifer; one red cow, owner unknown, for trespassing on Pellaway Station, for which no damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Earnscleugh, on the 8th day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—Peter Robertson, Poundkeeper of the Lawrence Pound.

on the 21st day of October, 1871, by W. More: one red and white heifer, branded blotch off rump, belonging to W. J. Miller, Longburn, for trespassing on Cole Creek Station, for which 5s damages is claimed; and in default of being released, the above heifer will be sold at the Public Pound, at Palmerston, on Friday, the 8th day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—J. on the 1st day of November, 1871: one strawberry cow, branded like D off rump; one red cow, branded like O with a line across centre near rump; one black and white heifer, no visible brand; one red and white steer, no visible brand; one red and white heifer, branded like C near rump; one red bull, no visible brand; one red and white steer, like O off rump, 22 off ribs; I strawberry bull, no visible brand; one red and white cow, like X near ribs. D and blotch conjoined off rump, by J. Longmuir, Esq., Mount Pisa Station, owner unknown, for trespassing on Run, for which 12s per head damages and driving expenses are claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Leaning Rock, Clyde, on Friday, the 8th day of December, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—William Williams, Poundkeeper of the Leaning Rock, Clyde, Pound.

CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF DUNEDIN.

RESOLUTION No. XI.

A Regulation made under Section 48, Sub-section 1, Part X, of Schedule XIII of the “Municipal Corporations Act 1867,” for fixing in certain cases the Rates or Fares for Hackney Carriages, or Borough Stage Carriages.

NOTICE is hereby given, that on the 11th day of October, 1871, a Regulation, entitled the above, was enacted and passed by the Council of the City of Dunedin; and that said Regulation is deposited for the inspection of any person interested therein at the Office of the said Council, in Maclaggan street, in the said City of Dunedin.

NOTICE.

Wellington, 28th October, 1871.

WHEREAS a fire, supposed to have been caused by the act of an incendiary, occurred on the 11th day of October last, at Invercargill, in the Province of Otago, in the Bank of Otago and other buildings: It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor will grant a free pardon to any accomplice in such act, not being a principal offender, who shall give such information as will lead to the apprehension and conviction of the principal offender or offenders, or any of them, if more than one.
