MAUNGATUA ROAD DISTRICT.—Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, on or before the 24th day of October, 1871.—James Sim, Clerk and Collector, Maungatua, 27th, 1871.


HIGHCLIFFE ROAD DISTRICT.—The Road Rates must be paid to me, at my house, on or before the 30th day of October, 1871.—William Hay, Collector to Highcliffe Road Board.


KAIKORAI ROAD DISTRICT.—Ratepayers are requested to pay their rates to me at my house on or before the 24th day of October, 1872.—John Jones, Collector.


SYDNEY.—Ratepayers are hereby informed that the General Road Board has sanctioned the collection of a Highway Rate of Sixpence per acre, and made the same payable to the undersigned, on or before the 24th proximo.—Alex. Fraser, Collector.—Otepopo, September 26th, 1871.


MOUNT ROYAL ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that the above-named Road Board intend to apply to the General Road Board on the first Thursday of November, 1871, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of (4d) fourpence per acre in said district. The Assessment Roll is now ready, and may be inspected for fourteen days from date, at my house.—John Kirk, Clerk and Collector, Palmerston, October 4th, 1871.


BEACONSFIELD ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given of their intention to apply to the General Road Board at the October sitting, for authority to levy a Highway Rate of (4d) fourpence per acre for the year ending June, 1872. The Assessment Roll is open for inspection at my house, Beaconsfield, fourteen days from date.—Elias Jones, Clerk to Board, September 3rd, 1871.


MERTON ROAD BOARD.—Notice.—The Precept for the collection of the Highway Rate for 1871-72 having been issued, Ratepayers are requested to pay to me their respective Rates, at my house, in one payment, on or before the 1st November, 1871.—Robert Aitken, Collector, Merton, October 6th, 1871.


MORNINGTON ROAD DISTRICT.—NOTICE. This Precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate for the abovenamed District for the year ending June, 1872, having been issued, the ratepayers are hereby respectfully requested to pay their respective rates to me, at my house, within thirty days from the date hereof.—John E. Attwood, Clerk and Collector, Post-office, Mornington.—October 1st, 1871.


THE AHURIRI LOCAL ROAD BOARD notify their intention to apply, at the next sitting of the General Road Board, in November, for authority to levy a rate of threepence per acre for the year ending June, 1872. The Rate Roll can be inspected at my house for fourteen days from this date.—Robert McLay, Clerk to Local Board.—Ahuriri, 11th October, 1871.


BLUESKIN POUND.—The four Heifers branded W on the off rump, advertised to be sold on the 6th October, have been released.


IMPOUNDED on the 9th October, 1871, by Mal. colm Carmichael, 1 red steer, brand like GH off rump and tar marked on near rump; 1 white heifer, tar marked on near rump; 1 strawberry heifer, tar marked on near rump; 2 red and white steers, tar marked on near rump; 5 strawberry steers, tar marked on near rump, owner unknown, trespassing on Mal. colm Carmichael’s farm, East Taieri, for which two shillings and two pence per head is claimed, driving and pound fees, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the public Pound at West Taieri, on Friday, the 27th day of October, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—Michael Tysan, Poundkeeper of the West Taieri Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 24th day of October, 1871, by Mr. Henry Raeburn, Tomahawk, one grey horse, branded like diamond near ramp and indistinct brand near shoulder, owner unknown, for trespassing on grass paddock; and in default of being released the above cattle will be sold at the public Pound at Anderson’s Bay, on Monday, the 27th day of October, 1874, at 12 o’clock noon.—Hiron Ross, Poundkeeper of the Anderson’s Bay Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 27th September, 1871, one grey mare, branded 15 off back, black spots gear hip and back, one dark bay mare, branded Y near shoulder, two hind and off fore foot white, star and snip, one light bay colt, no visible brand, one grey gelding branded like G off hip and blotch, one dark bay gelding, branded like JH off hip, blaze, one dark brown gelding, branded like JB off shoulder, near ribs full white feet, star, one bay gelding branded like VG near shoulder, white spot on near and off ribs, scar on off eye, star, supposed to belong to a man named Handcock; one brown mare, no visible brand, star and long tail, rope mark on neck, supposed to belong to a man named Cameron; one bay gelding, branded T G off shoulder four white feet, like Goff hip, blaze, one dark brown gelding, branded like JB off shoulder, near ribs, four white feet, like VG near shoulder, white spot on nose and back, by Mr. James Gowan, Manager, Kawau Station, owner unknown, for trespassing on run, for which five shillings per head is claimed, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the public pound at Leaning Rock, Clyde, on Friday, the 27th October, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—William Williams, Poundkeeper of the Leaning Rock Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 28th September, 1871, by Messrs Boyes Bros., Fall Station, one chestnut horse branded C near shoulder, near hind foot white, white strip down face, owner unknown, for trespassing on the Falls Station, for which one pound damages are claimed, and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the public pound at Hayes Lake, on Friday, the 27th October, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—Wm. Teal Marshall, Poundkeeper of the Shotover Pound.


IN THE ESTATE of the Late EDWARD BARBER, Hotel and Storekeeper, Hamilton.—All persons having claims in the above Estate are required to send full particulars of same on or before 17th October, 1871.—Emma Barber, Administratrix. Hamilton, October 2, 1871.


NOTICE: THE partnership hitherto existing between George Milne and Craven Paget of Alexandra, Coal Merchants, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. All accounts due to the said firm must be paid to George Milne; and all accounts owing by said firm will be discharged by said George Milne, Craven Paget having nothing whatever to do with the above-named partnership from this date.—Craven Paget, George Milne. Signed by the said Craven Paget and George Milne in the presence of John Cole Chapple, this 25th day of September, 1871.
