ABSTRACT FROM PREVIOUS GAZETTES
Of Impounding Notices:
- 29th September, Friday noon: A steer and two heifers will be sold at the Otoki Pound.
- 6th October, Friday noon: A Mare and Gelding will be sold at Otepopo Pound.
- 6th October, Friday noon: Four Heifers will be sold at Blueskin Pound.
- 6th October, Friday noon: A Steer and Heifer will be sold at Hawksbury Pound.
CORRECTION
See List of Passengers on board the ship “James Nicol Fleming” in last week’s Gazette.
Mary Applegarth and George Cousin having been assisted through ship’s agents, their names in the said Gazette should have been placed below figures 61.
The name of Mary Knarston, Bridge street, Leith, domestic servant, was omitted in the said list.
TENDERS
Tenders will be received at the office of the Secretary for Lands and Works, until noon of Monday the 2nd of October for,
1st, Contract No 22, Survey of a Township at the Elbow, Taringatura District, about 100 acres into sections of quarter acre, half acre, and five acres.
2nd, Contract No 73, Survey of Long Bush Township, about 470 acres, into sections of from five to twenty acres.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Survey Offices Dunedin and Invercargill.
Tenders to be endorsed “Tender for Contract No 72,” or “73,” as the case may be.
The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.
TENDERS WANTED
By the North-east Harbour Board:
1st, For widening certain parts of Road No. 1, and for making deviations on the same.
2nd, For effecting 68 fathoms; and for re-sheeting six chains more or less, of Timaru Basin, South Pier, the party.
Messrs Christie, Edwards, and Roger to show the works, at Mr. Roger’s house, on Saturday, the 7th October, by one o’clock. Tenders to be left at the Shetland Hotel on Friday, the 10th October.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS
The following Sections of Town Land will be sold by auction at the times and places mentioned below:
At the Land Office, Invercargill, at noon of Monday, the 9th October, 1871:
- Sections 11 and 13, Block III, Winton—upset price £5.
- Section 17, Block III, Wallacetown—upset price £4.
On the ground at Orepuki, at noon of Wednesday, the 11th October:
- Orepuki, sections 5, 6, 7, 8, Block I.
- Orepuki, sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Block II, Orepuki—upset price 2s.
N.B.—The purchasers of sections 4 and 7, Block II, if other than the present occupiers, must pay valuation for the buildings erected thereon in addition to the price of the land.
Island in Bineiski Bay, section 68, Block I, Waikouaiti District. Tenders will be received for a Lease of the above Section at the Land Office, Dunedin, up to Friday, the 6th of October next.
On that date, also, Section 52, Block I, Otokia District, containing 12a 2r 15p., will be offered for Sale by public auction, at 12 o’clock, noon, at the upset price of 21s. per acre.

NOTICE
Is hereby given, that Section 39, Block III, Kaitangata District, containing 165a. Or. 11p.; and Section 1 of 31, Block IV, Akatore District, containing 40 acres, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Auction Rooms of Mr. R. W. Capstick, Tokomairiro, on Friday, the 13th day of October next, at noon, at the upset price of 10s. per acre.
NOTICE
Is hereby given that the Lease of the Clutha Sandspit, being sections 1, 2, and 3, Coast District, will be offered for sale by public auction, at the Auction Rooms of Mr. R. W. Capstick, Tokomairiro, on Friday, the 27th day of October next, at 12 o’clock noon, at the upset price of £10 per annum. Deposit on fall of hammer to be £10.

NOTICE
CROWN GRANTS for the Land, and in favor of the persons after-mentioned, are now ready for delivery; and attention is directed to the following clauses of the “Crown Grants Act 1866.”
Clause XXXIX.—There shall be paid upon all Grants to be hereafter issued, which may be left in the office or custody of any Commissioner of Crown Lands; or other officer charged with the delivery of the same, a fee of sixpence for every month during which they shall be so left after the expiration of three months from the date of the notice in the Gazette of the Province wherein the lands are situate, that such Grants are ready for delivery.
Clause XL.—There shall be paid upon all Grants issued prior to the passing of this Act, and left as aforesaid in the custody of the officer charged with the delivery thereof, a fee of sixpence per month for every month during which they shall be so left after two months subsequent to the passing of this Act.
