WHIRO ROAD BOARD. — Notice is hereby given of the intention of Owhiro Road Board to apply to the General Board at its meeting in October for leave to levy a Highway Rate of One Shilling in the Pound on annual value of all lands and houses for year ending June 23rd 1872. The Assessment Roll can be inspected at the house of Mr. Wm. Milnes for fourteen days after the 6th September, 1871.—M. Donovan, Clerk to the Board.


SIGNAL HILL ROAD BOARD notify their intention to apply to the General Road Board at the October sitting for authority to levy a Highway Rate of Threepence per acre for the year ending June, 1872. The assessment roll is open for inspection at my house, Signal Hill, fourteen days from date.—Hugh Browne, Clerk to the Board. 5th September, 1871.


PORTOBELLO LOCAL ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given that the rate roll for the District will lie for inspection at the Schoolhouse, Portobello, from this date until Saturday, the 23rd instant, Sundays excepted.—William Dickson, Clerk to the Board. Portobello, 4th September, 1871.

IMPOUNDED on the twenty-sixth day of August, 1871, by John M’Kellar, Esq.: one dark roan Cow, branded CW near rump; one red and white Steer, JS off rump; one roan Steer, JS off rump; one red and white Steer, JS off rump, back piece out of off ear; one strawberry Steer, JS off rump, back piece out of off ear; one poley cow, red with white back, J near rump, like J off back; owners unknown; for trespassing on Tapanui Station; for which five shillings driving expenses is claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Glenkennich, on Friday, the 22nd day of September, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—Alex. M’Gregor, Poundkeeper of the Glenkennich Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the twenty-fifth day of August, 1871, by John M’Lean, Manager Morven Hills Station: a light bay Mare no visible brands; owner unknown; for trespassing on Morven Hills Station, breaking down fences, and destroying hay stack; for which no damage is claimed; and in default of being released, the above mare will be sold at the Public Pound at Leaning Rock, Clyde, on Friday, the 22nd day of September, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—William Williams, Poundkeeper of the Leaning Rock (Clyde) Pound.


IMPOUNDED on the 26th August, by Constable Hughes, one chestnut horse, branded G G on off shoulder, owner unknown, for straying on Public Road; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound, White Horse Yards, Toko.
