ELECTION of Local Boards Road Trustees.—Ratepayers in the undermentioned Road District having failed to elect a Local Board to serve for the year ending June, 1871. Notice is hereby given, that a Meeting is appointed to be held for the purpose of electing five duly qualified persons to serve as a Local Board as under:—
Lambton: Friday, 15th September, 1871, at the house of Mr Peter Orr, at 4 p.m.

ABSTRACT FROM PREVIOUS GAZETTES
of Impounding Notices:—
8th September, Friday noon, three cows, two calves, and a heifer will be sold at Clyde Pound.
15th Sept., Friday, noon, a Cow and two Steers will be sold at South Dunedin Pound.
15th Sept., Friday, noon, a Heifer and two Calves will be sold at Hawksbury Pound.
OTOKIA ROAD DISTRICT.—Tenders wanted for certain works by the above-named Local Road Board. Specifications to be seen at the School House, Otokia, and all information given on and after Monday, the 11th inst. The works to be shown on Saturday, the 16th; intending contractors to meet at the School at 11 o’clock A.M., and all Tenders to be lodged with the undersigned on or before 12 o’clock on Wednesday, the 20th inst.—PETER LEITCH, Clerk.

MOSGIEL ROAD DISTRICT.—Tenders will be received by the Undersigned until noon of Friday, the 15th September, for Construction of a timber Bridge over Mill Creek; also, a timber Culvert. Specifications may be seen at the house of Mr. A. Armit Mosgiel, who will show the works. The Board does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.—JOHN ANDREWS, Clerk to the Board.

BELL HILL WORKS—Tenders will be received at the Government Offices, Dunedin, until noon of Thursday, 21st day of September, current, for Carting for Six Months, commencing 2nd October, 1871. Sureties will require to sign a form—which may be obtained at the Gaol, and must be lodged with the tender—for the due performance of the Contract. Extent of security—£50 in all. For further information, apply to Mr. Caldwell, Governor of the Gaol.
SCHOOLMASTER Wanted for Government Side School at Macrae’s. Salary £75 per annum with Fees and a small Residence. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged on or before September 15th with R. DONALDSON, Clerk to the School Committee, Macrae’s.
WANTED, a Teacher for the Side School, Taieri Ferry. Salary: £75 per annum and the usual proportion of school fees. Applications with testimonials to be lodged with the Undersigned on or before the 8th September, 1871. AMOS MCKEGG, Clerk School Committee, Taieri Ferry.
WANTED, a Schoolmistress for the North Taieri School. Salary: £75 per annum. Applications with testimonials to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 8th September next. WILLIAM THOMSON, Clerk School Committee, Post-Office, North Taieri.
WANTED, a Properly Qualified Teacher for the Main School at Riverton. Salary: Government Grant and the usual proportion of school fees. The probable number of children attending school will be from 60 to 80. A free residence (with about an acre of land fenced in) is attached to the House. WANTED, a Teacher for the Side School, Clarke’s Flat, near Lawrence. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 20th Sept., 1871. ALEX. FRASER, Secretary to School Committee, Clarke’s Flat, near Lawrence.
WANTED, a Teacher for the Side School, Tapanui. Salary, £75 from Government, and £50 from School Committee, with four-roomed house, garden, and twelve-acre paddock. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged with the undersigned on or before the 2nd October, 1871. JOHN MCFARLANE, Secretary School Committee, Tapanui.
WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.
SETTLERS desirous of Depasturing Cattle on the Wairuna and Crookston Hundreds are requested to make the required return and take out Depasturing Licenses. Forms and every information may be had of the Ranger at Balclutha, and at the Land office.
WINTON HUNDRED.
APPLICATIONS will be received at the Land Office, Invercargill, for the purchase of section 35, block III, Winton Hundred, hitherto temporarily reserved, on Monday, the 18th day of September, 1871. The said land being bounded on the north by part of north boundary of aforesaid block, 4607 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 1417 links, 2014 links, and 2707 links; and on the west by a Bush Reserve, 3695 links; and containing by admeasurement 63 acres 3 roods 0 poles.
The following Sections of TOWN LAND will be sold by auction at the times and places mentioned below:—
At the Land Office, Invercargill, at noon of Monday, the 9th October.
Sections 11, 12 and 13, block III, Winton—upset price £8.
Section 17, block III, Wallacetown—upset price £4.
On the ground at Orepuki, at noon of Wednesday, the 11th October: sections 5, 6, 7, 8, block I, Orepuki; sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, block II, Orepuki—upset price £5.
N.B.—The purchasers of sections 4 and 7, block II, if other than the present occupants, must pay valuation for the buildings erected thereon in addition to the price of the land.
