TEVIOT SCHOOL.—A duly qualified Teacher required for the above school. Salary, £150 per annum, with comfortable residence. Applications to be addressed to the Secretary, Teviot School Committee.
TEACHER WANTED.—Wanted, for the Taieri Beach Side School, a Teacher. Salary—£75 and School Fees, and small allowance for rent. Applications, with Testimonials, to be lodged at the Education Office, on or before the 1st of June.
NOTICE.
IN conformity with Section 23 of the Mining Leases Regulations, I hereby give notice that the application of John Green for a Mining Lease of ten (10) acres of land on the east side of Coal Pit Hill, near Naseby, made on March 11, 1871, has been withdrawn, and that such ground is open to persons holding Miners’ Rights or Business Licenses, or to applicants for leases, as if no lease of the said ground had ever been applied for.

ELECTORAL NOTICE.—Port Chalmers District.—The List of persons objected to as not being entitled to have their names retained on the Electoral Roll for the Port Chalmers District is now posted up for inspection at the Town Hall, Port Chalmers.

SUPREME COURT.
NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil Business, will be held at the Supreme Court House, Dunedin, on Monday, the 5th day of June next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, at which time and place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as Prosecutors, Defendants, or Witnesses, are required to give their attendance.
Notice is hereby further given, that the Civil Cases will not be called on for trial until Tuesday, the 13th day of June, at ten o’clock in the forenoon.
THOMAS H. BROOKS, who was a Passenger on board the Steamer Lord Worsley when wrecked, is requested to call upon the Collector of Customs, Dunedin.

NOTICE.—The Sheep advertised to be sold at the West Taieri Pound on 26th May, 1871, are claimed.—MICHAEL TYNAN, Poundkeeper. 15th May, 1871.
IMPOUNDED, on the 29th day of April, 1871, one red-and-white Bull, no visible brand, by George Partridge, miner, Lowburn, supposed to belong to J. Perriam, Lowburn, for trespassing on garden and breaking down fences, for which two pounds is charged damages; and in default of being released, the above Bull will be sold at the Public Pound at Leaning Rock, Clyde, on Friday, the second day of June, 1871, at twelve o’clock noon.—WILLIAM WILLIAMS, Poundkeeper of the Leaning Rock (Clyde) Pound.
IMPOUNDED, on the 6th day of May, 1871, by Maitland Bros., one strawberry Cow, with brindled bull calf, branded like P on off rump, owner unknown, for trespassing on the Crescent Paddock, for which ten shillings is claimed for damages and driving expenses; and in default of being released, the above Cow will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha on Friday, the 2nd day of June, 1871, at twelve o’clock noon.—GEORGE BAIN, Poundkeeper of the Balclutha Pound.
IMPOUNDED, on the 13th day of May, 1871, by William Wilson, Forbury Road, one spotted Cow, branded DW off rump, one spotted Heifer, no visible brand, owner or owners unknown, for trespassing on grass paddock, for which no damages are claimed; and in default of being released the above Cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Caversham on Friday, the second day of June, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—JOHN ANDERSON, Poundkeeper of the Caversham Pound.
LOST.—£2 Reward. Strayed from Healey’s Station, West Taieri, on the 26th December, a light bay Mare, branded m on off shoulder. Any person delivering the same to J. Stewart, North Taieri, will receive the above Reward.
£5 REWARD.
STOLEN or Strayed from Reserve paddock at Caversham, a dark chestnut Horse, white face down to nose, about 15½ hands high, switch tail, no brand. The above Reward will be paid to anyone giving information which will lead to a conviction, or return the horse to Mr. Poots, Plough Inn, Caversham.
MUNICIPALITY OF BALCLUTHA.
Notice of Assessment.
IN accordance with Section LXXXII of the “Otago Municipal Corporations Ordinance 1865,” Notice is hereby given, that at a meeting of the above Municipal Council, the assessment for the current Year was submitted and allowed. The Assessment Book is deposited and may be daily inspected at my office between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M.
