NOTICE TO CATTLE OWNERS

Notice is hereby further given, that the number of cattle and horses depastured by them on the unsold lands within the Hundred, with their brands.

5th.—Before removing or slaughtering cattle, owners shall give notice in writing to the nearest Warden.

6th.—Any person about to bring cattle on the run shall, one week before doing so, furnish to the nearest Warden notice in writing, with such information as shall give opportunity for inspection.

7th.—No person shall be allowed to depasture on the unsold lands in the Hundred more than one head of cattle for every twenty-five acres of land owned or occupied by him in the Hundred.

8th.—All stray cattle may be impounded.

9th.—The penalty for any breach of the foregoing Bye-Laws shall be any sum not exceeding five pounds, to be recovered in a summary manner, in accordance with the 45th clause of the “Southland Waste Lands Act 1865.”

NOTICE

The Precept having been issued authorising the Collection of the Highway Rate in the Deborah Bay Road District for Year ending 25th June, 1871, ratepayers are requested to pay their rates to me at my house on or before the seventeenth (17th) May, 1871.—Geo. C. Hutchcook, Collector, Deborah Bay.


OSGIEL ROAD DISTRICT - Notice

The Assessment Roll for this district, 1870-71, can be inspected for fourteen days from this date by any one claiming to be affected thereby, at the house of the undersigned.—John Andrews, Clerk to the Board.

IMPOUNDED

Impounded on the 28th day of April, 1871, by Mr. Peter Orr: one black saddle Mare, like R C off shoulder (the first letter blotched), short tail; owner unknown; for trespassing on fenced land; and in default of being released, the above Mare will be sold at the Public Pound at Oamaru, on Friday, the 19th day of May, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—Frank Colins, Poundkeeper of the Oamaru Pound.


SUPREME COURT

Notice is hereby given, that a Sitting of the Supreme Court for the despatch of Criminal and Civil Business, will be held at the Supreme Court House, Dunedin, on Monday, the 5th day of June next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the forenoon, and place all persons bound by recognizances to appear as Prosecutors, Defendants, or Witnesses, are required to give their attendance.

Further notice is hereby given, that the Civil Cases will not be called on for trial until Tuesday, the 13th day of June, at ten o’clock in the forenoon.
