NOTICE.—BLUESKIN ROAD BOARD.—All those persons who have not paid up their respective rates are requested to do so on 29th instant, on which day the Collector will wait on them at their houses for the purpose of receiving said rates. Legal proceedings will be taken to recover all rates not paid on or before the above date.—JOSEPH H. GRAY, Clerk and Collector. Blueskin, March 18th, 1871.
IMPOUNDED, on the 1st of March, 1871, by Wm. Grey, one red steer, branded |-| off rump, top off near ear, for trespassing on cut crop, for which £1 damage is claimed; the said steer has been claimed by Mr. Wm. Woods, but not released. If said steer is not taken away it will be sold on the seventh of April to defray expenses.—JAMES DALGLEISH, Poundkeeper, Papakaio.
LAWRENCE POUND.—The chesnut mare advertised to be sold on the 17th was claimed by Andrew Millar, Woolshed.—PETER ROBERTSON, Poundkeeper.
REGISTRATION FORMS may be had, gratis from the Registration Officers throughout the Province, and also from the Government Storekeeper, Dunedin.
THE Gazette may be had gratis by applying to J. Logan, Superintendent's Office, Dunedin. Parties should give with their address the nearest post town.
GAZETTE.—Complaints respecting the non-receipt of the Gazette, if made to J. Logan, Superintendent's Office, Dunedin, will receive immediate attention. Each person will please see that the nearest Post Town is given in his address.
NOTICE TO ADVERTISERS IN GAZETTE.—All advertisements for insertion in Gazette, other than those from Road Boards, &c., which are inserted free, must from this date be accompanied by a cheque (or cash) for the full amount, including, if from a country district, 1s for exchange, otherwise they will not be inserted. The charge is 6d per line of 7 words.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned Robert Patterson and Patrick Keppal as general storekeepers, &c., in Cardrona, in the Province of Otago, under the style and firm of "Patterson & Keppal," is this day Dissolved by mutual consent, Mr Patrick Keppal retiring from the Firm. The business will in future be carried on by Mr. Robert Patterson alone, who will pay all debts due by, and receive and give discharges for all moneys owing to, the late firm.

PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by "The Diseased Cattle Act 1861," it is enacted that the Governor in Council may, by warrant under his hand, from time to time delegate to the Superintendent of any Province within the Colony, all or any of the powers vested in the Governor or in Council by the said Act, subject to such regulation as he may think fit:
And whereas by the fourth section of "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act 1865," it is enacted that the Governor may, by any Order in Council, from time to time annul, make void, alter, or vary, or make anew, any Orders in Council, regulations, appointments, or prohibitory, or other declarations made and published by the Governor, under the authority of "The Diseased Cattle Act 1861," or of "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act 1865," or by the Superintendent of any Province under in pursuance of any powers delegated under the powers of delegation contained in "The Diseased Cattle Act 1861," or "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act 1865":
And whereas by the fifth section of "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act 1865," it is enacted that the power of annulling, making void, or allowing, or varying, and making anew any such regulations, appointments, or prohibitory, or other declarations, is vested in the Governor by "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act 1865," may from time to time be delegated by the Governor in Council, by warrant under his hand, to the Superintendent of any Province.
And whereas the said Governor hath, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, delegated to William Rolleston, Esquire, the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, within the said Province, so long as he shall remain Superintendent of the Province, the several powers vested in the Governor or the Governor in Council by the second, fourth, fifth seventh, ninth, and tenth sections of "The Diseased Cattle Act 1861" aforesaid, and all the powers which by the fifth section of "The Diseased Cattle Act Amendment Act 1865," the Governor in Council is authorised so to delegate:-
Now, therefore, I, William Rolleston, by virtue of such powers in me vested, do hereby proclaim and declare that, after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, all that district of the Province of Marlborough lying between the Clarence River, the Conway River, the seaward Kaikoura Range and the sea; the Province of Otago; and the County of Westland, in the Middle Island of New Zealand, shall be deemed Infected Districts within the meaning of the said Acts; and I do further proclaim and declare the following Regulations for the destruction of Diseased Cattle, and for the preventing and regulating the removal or transportation of cattle from the said several Infected Districts into the Province of Canterbury:-
I.—If any person shall import, drive, or remove, or cause to be imported, driven, or removed, or assist in driving or removing any cattle from either of the said infected districts into the Province of Canterbury, except into a Quarantine ground, and after having obtained a Quarantine certificate from an Inspector of Cattle, such person shall be liable to a penalty of fifty pounds for every head of cattle so imported, driven, or removed.
II.—It shall be lawful for any Inspector of Cattle or Police Constable to destroy, or cause to be destroyed, any diseased cattle which shall pass into this Province from either of the said districts, contrary to these Regulations.
III.—If any person shall wilfully impede or obstruct any Inspector or any Police Constable acting under the authority of these Regulations, every person so offending shall be liable to a penalty of fifty pounds.
IV.—These Regulations shall take effect from and after the day following the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
