AHURIRI ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given, that the precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate for the year 1870-71 having been issued by the General Road Board, ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, on or before the 9th January, 1871.—ROBERT McLAY, Collector. Ahuriri, 15th December, 1870.
TOMAHAWK ROAD RATE.—Notice to Ratepayers.—Take notice that all rates for the year 1870-71, not yet paid, be paid to me, at my house, within fourteen days from date; after, legal proceedings will be taken to recover the same.—ALEX. HENDERSON, Clerk and Collector. December 20, 1870.
CHELSEA ROAD DISTRICT.—All rates in arrears must be paid to Mr. Paterson, at his residence, within fourteen days from this date, otherwise legal proceedings will be taken to recover the same.—ANDREW BLAKE, Clerk to the Board. Kakanui, 14th December, 1870.
WAIHOLA WEST ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given, that the General Road Board having issued the precept for the collection of the Rate for the year 1870-71, ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to the Collector within thirty days from this date.—WILLIAM DUFF, Clerk to the Board. WANGALOA ROAD DISTRICT.—The Precept authorising the collection of the Highway Rate for the year 1870-71 having now been issued, ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me.—ROBERT NEILL, Clerk to Wangaloa Road Board. December 5, 1870.
NOTICE.—Copmanhurst Road Board.—Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at Herbert Store, within 14 days from this date.—THOMAS HORNE, Collector. Otepopo, December 15, 1870.

For the convenience of ratepayers, I will be at the Schoolhouse on Friday, the 6th January, 1871, between the hours of 12 and 2 p.m.—ROBERT DECK, Collector. Broad Bay, 20th December, 1870.

OTEPOPO POUND.—The Heifer impounded in the Otepopo Pound on the 9th December has been claimed.—DONALD CAMPBELL, Poundkeeper of the Otepopo Pound. 15th December, 1870.
NOTICE.—On December 4, 1870, one red and white heifer Calf, no brands, strayed into our Paddock. The owner can have the same by paying expenses.

IMPOUNDED, on the 15th day of December, 1870, by Mr. Innes, Ranger, one red and white heifer, O— off rump, one red heifer, no brand, one red bull calf, no brand; one red and white bullock, like TJ off rump, dP off rib, piece out of right ear; owners unknown, for trespassing on Waikouaiti Hundred, for which no damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hawksbury on Friday, the 6th day of January, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—ARCHD. IMPOUNDED on the 14th day of December, 1870, by Mr. Irving, Ranger, one white Bullock, no brand, a few red spots on neck, and a small white Steer with red ears, branded (S off rump; a red and white heifer, branded 1 T, (bottom part formed like d) off shoulder; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Tokomairiro, on Friday, the 6th day of January, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—JAMES GOODALL, Poundkeeper of the Public Pound, Tokomairiro.
IMPOUNDED on the 11th day December, 1870, by Police, one red and white spotted cow, calf at foot, branded W off rump, blotch brand on off ribs, cut on the near ear, owner unknown, for trespassing on the Main Road, for which 10s. is claimed for damages and driving expenses; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Balclutha, on Friday, the 6th day of January, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—GEORGE BAIN, Poundkeeper of the Balclutha Pound.
The red Heifer has been claimed.
IMPOUNDED on the 12th day of December, 1870, by Wm. Allison, North Clutha, one blue and white Cow, branded W S off rump, owner unknown, for trespassing on grass paddocks, for which one pound two shillings and sixpence damages are claimed; and in default of being released, the above Cow will be sold at the Public Pound at Inch Clutha, on Friday, the sixth day of January, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—GEORGE TOWNSEND, Poundkeeper.
IMPOUNDED on the 15th day of December, 1870, by Mounted Constable Cutliffe, at West Taieri, one black and white Cow, branded like Q (with stroke inside) off rump; one red and white Heifer, blotch off rump; one red and white Cow, like C— off rump; one red Steer, branded like C— off rump; one red and white Cow, branded like K off rump, and T K off ribs, for trespassing on Public Road, West Taieri, for which 6d. per head expenses are claimed for driving to Pound; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at West Taieri on Friday, the 6th day of January, 1871, at 12 o’clock noon.—MICHAEL TYNAN, Poundkeeper of the West Taieri Pound.
