NOTICE.

In future when it is required that the amounts due to local Road Boards, on account of their subsidised rates, should be paid into a Bank, the Treasurers to the Boards must give an order to that effect on the back of the voucher.

ASSESSMENT OF STOCK DEPASTURED ON HUNDREDS.

Persons who have neglected to pay their Assessment in terms of the “Otago Waste Land Act 1866, Amendment Act 1869,” are requested to do so at once to the Provincial Treasurer, Dunedin.

All parties in arrears on 1st October, 1870, will be proceeded against in terms of the 11th section of the above Act.

NOTICE.

Notice is hereby given, that the Government have cancelled the Agricultural Leases issued in favour of the undermentioned:—

Charles Jennings, Sections 2 and 3, Block XI, Skippers Creek.
William Webster, Section 12, Block IX, Shotover.

And the land is now open for application under the Agricultural Lease Regulations.

MARTIN’S BAY.

Notice is hereby given, that in the event of a sufficient number of bona fide settlers desiring to proceed to Martin’s Bay, arrangements will be made for a direct steamer at an early date.

Apply immediately to the Secretary to the Superintendent, Dunedin.

CORRECTED NOTICE.

THE GOVERNMENT is prepared to receive offers until noon of Saturday, 1st day of October, 1870, from persons who may be willing to lay on Steamers to perform the following services on the Coast of this Province, in connection with the River Service of the Clutha, viz:—

1st. A steamer to leave Dunedin for Port Molyneux fortnightly, in connection with one on the Clutha, for Kaitangata, Clutha Ferry, Pomahaka, and Clyde vale, or as much higher up the river as can be obtained, including a trip to Waikava and Catlin’s River bi-monthly; or

2nd. To perform the same services, and, in addition, to proceed to the “Bluff” and Riverton if necessary.

NOTICE.

PROTECTION OF ANIMALS ACT.

The period during which native game may be hunted, shot, taken or killed in this Province, having expired on the 31st day of August last, it is notified, for general information, that any person or persons found offending against the provisions of the Act, will be prosecuted.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Toll-house, Saddle-hill.

2nd. Contract No. 503—Maintenance of a portion of the road “Dunedin to East Taieri Bridge.”

Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Toll-house, East Taieri Bridge.

3rd. Contract No. 511—Maintenance of portions of the Road “East Taieri Bridge to Tokomairiro.”

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Toll-house, East Taieri Bridge.

4th. Contracts Nos. 512, 513, 514, 515, 516 and 517—Maintenance of portions of the road “East Taieri Bridge to Tokomairiro.”

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at the Toll-house, Waihola Gorge.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works Tender for Contract Nos. 490, 491, 503, 511, 512, 513, 514, 515, 516, or 517,” as the case may be.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.
