Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin; or at Police Station, Tokomairiro.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works tender for Contracts Nos. 506, 507, 508, 509, 510, 511, 512, 513, 514, 515, 516, or 517," as the case may be.

Deposit required on total for maintenance portion of contract.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Lands and Works until noon of Friday, 16th September, for

  1. Contracts Nos. 527, 528, and 529—Maintenance of portions of the road "Dunedin to Waikouaiti."

  2. Contracts Nos. 530, 531, 532, 533 and 534—Maintenance of portions of the road "Waikouaiti to Palmerston."

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, or at Police Station, Waikouaiti.

Tenders to be endorsed "Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 527, 528, 529, 530, 531, 532, 533, or 534," as the case may be.

Deposit required on total for maintenance portion of contract.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Monday, 19th September, for

Contract No. 57.—Survey of 2500 acres, Kawarau District, Run No. 345, into 50 acre sections.

Plan and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Survey Office, Dunedin.

Tenders to be endorsed "Tender for Survey Contract No. 57," and to be accompanied by the usual deposit.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

CARTERS.—Bell Hill Works.—Tenders will be received at the Government Office, Dunedin, until noon of Tuesday, 20th September current, for Carting for six months, commencing 1st October, 1870.

Specifications will require to sign a form, which may be obtained at the Gaol, and must be lodged with the tender for the due performance of the contract. Extent of security, £50 in all.

For further information apply at the Gaol, Dunedin.

MOUNT ROYAL Local Road Board invite Tenders for 79 feet of pitching and forming approaches to same.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and tenders lodged, with Mr. Thos. Johnston, Pleasant Valley, on or before noon, the 9th of September, 1870.

The Board does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.—JOHN KEEN, Clerk.

HARLINGTON ROAD WORKS.—Tenders are invited for Metalling about thirty chains of Road in the above district.

Specifications to be seen at the house of the undersigned, where Tenders will also be received, till Saturday, the 10th September next, at 4 o’clock p.m.

The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted.

SCHOOLMASTER wanted for Macrae’s Flat Side School. Salary £130, with small residence. Applications, with testimonials, to be lodged at the Education Office, Dunedin, before 10th September.

WANTED a Single Man as Teacher for the Thomson’s District School. Salary £150 per annum, with residence. Applications, with testimonials, to be sent to the Secretary of the School Committee, Dry Bread, before the 15th September.

WASTE LAND BOARD ADVERTISEMENTS.

LITHOGRAPH MAPS of the Province of Otago, and of the surveyed Towns, Blocks, and Districts therein, may be obtained at the Land Office, Dunedin; at Mr. Livingston’s, bookseller, Princes street; and at the agencies of Mr. Livingston, Oamaru; Mr. Smith, Waikouaiti; Mr. Stoddart, Hampden; Messrs. B. Hibbard and Co., Tokomairiro; and at the Survey Offices at Queenstown, Clyde, Naseby, and Lawrence, so far as relates to the Districts, &c., adjacent to them; but any map not on hand at any of the Survey Offices may be ordered through them.

All the surveyed Towns and Blocks have been lithographed—price 1s. each. The Districts not lithographed on a scale of 80 chains to an inch are Awamoko, Papakaio, Oamaru, Kakanui, Otepopo, and Moeraki—price 5s. each.

Section 1 is partly fenced, and is now used as an accommodation paddock attached to the hotel. The hotel, now occupied by Mr. Thomas Pollock, is situated on section 2, and consists of bar, dining-room, parlor, private room, four bed-rooms on the ground floor.
