PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
In conformity to the 23rd Section of the “Gold Fields Act 1866,” and to the Regulations made under that Act and the “Gold Fields Acts Amendment Acts 1867, 1868, and 1869,” for the granting of leases for gold mining purposes within the Province of Otago, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against granting such lease.
Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden, at Lawrence, on or before the 6th day of July.
Copy of the application made, and plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Lawrence.
Given under my hand at Dunedin, this twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand eight hundred and seventy.

James Campbell, for “Otago Gold Mining Company, Registered,” for 4 acres of land at Blue Spur, Gabriels’, being the ground at present held by applicants under Mining Lease dated 6th November, 1865; and 2 roods, more or less, adjoining, held under Miners’ Rights.
ELECTION of Local Boards Road Trustees.
Ratepayers in the undermentioned Road District having failed to elect a Local Board to serve for the year ending June, 1871. Notice is hereby given, that a Meeting is appointed to be held for the purpose of electing five duly qualified persons to serve as a Local Board as under:—
Milburn: Tuesday, 12th July, 1870, Gorge School, at 4 p.m.

1st July, Friday noon, a black horse will be sold at South Dunedin Pound.
8th July, Friday noon, a black horse will be sold at Glenkenich Pound.
8th July, Friday, noon, two Mares will be sold at Tokomairiro Pound.
8th July, Friday, noon, two Cows will be sold at South Dunedin Pound.
TENDERS
TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon of Monday, the 4th July, for
Contract No. 51.—Survey of about 2,600 acres Spotting Applications in Wyndham, Waikaka, Waipori, Toetoes, Tuturau, and Waipahi Districts.
Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained, at the Survey Office, Dunedin.
Tenders to be accompanied by a deposit of 10 per cent.
