In the Supreme Court of New Zealand,
Otago and Southland District.
In the matter of "The Escheat Act 1868," and in
the matter of James Buchanan, late of West
Tairei, Farmer, deceased.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that an inquest
for the purpose of determining whether certain
lands, situate in the Province of Otago, lately the pro-
perty of James Buchanan, the above-named deceased
manely,—Section twenty-four, Irregular block, West
Taiari District; and section twenty-three, block one,
Lower Harbour West District; and containing toge-
ther sixty-three acres, three roods, and twenty-two
poles, or thereabout, have or have not become the pro-
perty of Her Majesty the Queen, by way of escheat,
will be held by me, the Sheriff of the District of the
Province of Otago, in pursuance of the above-mentioned
Act, on Tuesday, the seventeenth day of May, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy, at eleven o’clock
in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court-house, Dunedin.
And notice is hereby further given, that any person
desiring to claim any title or interest to or in the said lands, or
any of them, either as heir-at-law of the said James
Buchanan, or otherwise, may appear and give evidence
at such inquest in support of their, his, or her claims of
disinherison.

1870.

NOTICE.
DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
WE, the undersigned, trading as General Dea-
lers and Storekeepers at Hamilton and Mount Ida, under
the name or style of Bremner Bros., have this day dis-
solved partnership by mutual consent.
The business at Hamilton will be carried on by
Joseph Beld Bremner, under the name or style of J.
R. Bremner and Co.; and the business at Mount Ida
will be carried on by John Guild Bremner and Robert
Grant Bremner, under the name or style of J. and R.
Bremner.
All accounts owing to or by the late firm will be re-
ceived and paid at Mount Ida and Hamilton respectively.

Waikouaiti Pound.—The Bullocks adver-
tised to be sold on the 20th has been claimed.

REWARD.—Strayed from Waikouaiti on or
about the 24th Sept., 1869, black Horse, heavy
draught; no visible brand. Anyone giving such infor-
mation as will lead to recovery if same to Anderson
Mowat, Dunedin, or T. Anderson and Co., Hawks-
bury, will receive the above reward.
IMPOUNDED on the 14th day of May, 1870, by J.
Anderson, constable: one bay horse, white star on
forehead, off fetlock white, indistinct brand off shoul-
der; one bay mare, white star on face, near fetlock
white, branded like V (within circle) near shoulder;
also, one black mare, white strip down face, blotched
brand near shoulder; for trespassing on Main South
Road; and in default of being released, the above cattle
will be sold at the Public Pound at South Dunedin,
on Friday, the 10th day of June, 1870, at 12 o’clock
