THE GOODWOOD ROAD BOARD invite Tenders
for the following works:—
Contract No. 1.—Forming about 75 chains of Road,
with culverts.
Contract No. 3.—Forming about 10 chains of Road,
with culverts.
Contract No. 4.—Forming about 47 chains of Road,
with culverts.
Contract No. 7.—Forming a portion of Road from
Pleasant River to Main North Road, with culverts.
Contract No. 8.—The construction of a culvert, and
forming approaches.
Plans and specifications may be seen, and tenders
lodged with Joseph Preston, Esq., Goodwood, on or
before the 4th of April. The Board does not under-
take to accept the lowest or any tender.—JOHN KER,

WHIRO LOCAL BOARD.—Tenders will be
received, up to April 8, for removing the Monu-
ment Bridge, and re-erecting it over the Owhiro
stream, on the Main District Road. Specification to
be seen at my Office, Moray Place, Dunedin.—JOHN

TENDERS are invited by the Blueskin Road Board
for several works to be done in the Blueskin
Road District. Intending contractors will meet at the
house of John Aitken, Blueskin, at nine o’clock sharp on
Monday and Tuesday, the 11th and 12th April, 1870,
when they will be shown over the works. Sealed
tenders to be lodged with John Aitken, Clerk to
Board, or to any member of the Board, up to five
o’clock, p.m., on Friday, the 15th April. The Board
does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

WANTED, by the Purakanui Road Board, Ten-
ders for Stumping and Forming about 22
Chains, more or less, of Road Line. Intending con-
tractors will meet at Mr. Driver’s, at 2 p.m., on Wed-
esday, April 13, and be shown the work; and speci-
fications can be seen, and tenders lodged, with Mr. Wm.
Mawson, bootmaker, Port Chalmers, or with the under-
signed, up till 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15.—JOSEPH

MONTROYAL ROAD BOARD.—No eligible
tender having been received for the erection of
a Timber Bridge over Pleasant River, the time for
receiving tenders has been extended to Friday, the 15th
of April. Plan and specification may be seen, and
tenders lodged, with Mr. W. Mitchell, Pleasant Valley.
The Board does not undertake to accept the lowest or

NEW Regulations for Gold Fields just printed, and
may be had of the Provincial Government Store-
keeper.—29th March, 1870.

WANTED, a Teacher for Hillend Side School.
Salary—£75 per annum, and School fees.
Number of children on the roll—30. A Glebe of 10
acres. Applications to be lodged with Mr. Peter Bell,
Cholecalc, Hillend, Clutha Ferry, on or before the 10th
April.

WANTED a Teacher for Tuapeka Mouth Side
School. Salary £75 per annum with the
school fees. Applications, with testimonials, to be
lodged at the Education Office, till the 4th April, 1870.

THE Otago Education Board invites applications for
the following-mentioned appointments:—1st. A
Lady Principal for the Otago Provincial School for
the Higher Education of girls; salary, for the present,
£250 per annum, with free residence and accommodation
for boarders. 2nd. A Governess for the same Insti-
tution; salary, £150 per annum. And 3rd. A Com-
mercial Master for the Otago High School; salary,
£300 per annum.
The Lady Principal will be expected to receive girls
as boarders at fifty guineas per annum. In the event
of the successful candidate for the Commercial Mastership
being unmarried, he will receive a salary of £250 with
free board and residence at the High School Boarding
Establishment.
Candidates are requested to specify all the subjects
they are qualified to teach. Applications with Testi-
monials will be received by the undersigned till the 1st
of June, 1870. Additional information will be fur-
nished on application.

UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO, N. Z.

THE COUNCIL of the University of Otago will
shortly appoint two Professors to the following-
mentioned Chairs:—1st. Classics, to include Greek, Latin,
and the English Language and Literature; 2nd.
Mathematics and Natural Philosophy. Salary of each
Professor £600 per annum with the Class Fees, which
are fixed at three guineas per term. Candidates must
be graduates of some established and recognised Uni-
versity.
Applications and testimonials will be received by the
undersigned will the 1st of June, 1870. Additional in-
formation will be furnished on application.
