NOTICE is hereby given, that the application of Thomas Francis Roskruge and Michael John Malaghan, on behalf of the El Dorado Quartz Mining Company, for 200 yards of land at Upper Shotover, which was notified in the Provincial Government Gazette of the 9th instant, has been cancelled.
MERTON ROAD RATES.—Notice is hereby given that all outstanding rates will be sued for, after the 24th inst.—D. BRUNTON, Clerk and Collector. Merton, 3rd March, 1870.

HAMPDEN ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice to Ratepayers.—All Rates not paid for the current year, 1869-70, must be paid to me, at my house, Hampden, on or before the 28th March 1870, or legal proceedings will be taken for the recovery of the same.—PETER W. YOUNG, Collector.—Hampden, 18th February, 1870.
WANGALOA ROAD RATE—1869-70.—The precept authorising the collection of the above rate, having been issued; Ratepayers are requested to pay the amount of their respective rates to me, at my house, on or before the 25th inst.—ROBERT NEILL, Clerk and Collector. 11th March, 1870.
IMPOUNDED on the 7th day of March, 1870, by George Fry, for Hawksbury Bush Road Board: one bay horse branded P C off shoulder, white stripe down face; one brown mare, no visible brand, small white spot on forehead; owners unknown; for trespassing on Hawksbury Bush District Roads, for which one shilling and sixpence each damage is claimed, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hawksbury, on Friday, the 8th day of April, 1870, at 12 o’clock at noon.—ARCHD. IMPOUNDED on the 10th day of March, 1870, by Mr. Andrew Anderson, Blueskin: one chestnut Mare, star on forehead, indistinct brand near shoulder; one bay yearling Gelding, branded like P near shoulder, small stripe of white on face, both off feet white; owner unknown; for trespassing on Mr. A. Anderson’s land, for which four shillings and sixpence per head is charged, and in default of being released, the above horses will be sold at the Public Pound at Blueskin, on Friday, the 8th day of April, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon.—J. GREEN, Poundkeeper of the Blueskin Pound.
DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.—Notice is hereby given, that the partnership hitherto existing between us has this day been by agreement dissolved. All accounts due to the firm of Cooper and Stephens must be paid to Thomas Cooper; all accounts against the said firm are requested to be sent to Mr. Thomas Cooper.

BYE-LAW No. 1.
IF any person shall attach to the Company’s pipes pipes of any inferior quality, that is to say, pipes weighing for ¾ inch under 9 lbs. per yard; for ½ inch under 6 lbs. per yard; and for ¼ inch under 5 lbs. per yard; or which shall not be able to stand a pressure of 200 lbs. per square inch, he shall forfeit a sum of not less than £5 nor over £10 for every such offence.
