IN conformity with the 29th Section of the "Gold Fields Act 1866," it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a Lease for gold mining purposes of Crown Lands to the undermentioned—

WILLIAM HANCOCK, and Others, Augusta Sluicing Company.

Section 1, block xiv, Tuapeka East, containing ten acres.

SUSANNAH SMOOTHLY

for a Mining Lease of 10 acres of Land at the head of Gabriel’s Gully, Tuapeka, having been refused, the Land in question is now open for occupation by holders of miners’ rights.

W. JOHNSON of Port Chalmers aforesaid Ship Chandler and to all persons whom it may concern.

GREETING:

WHEREAS an action is now pending in our Supreme Court of New Zealand Otago and Southland District Province of Otago between RICHARD BOWDEN MARTIN and ALEXANDER CARRICK both of Dunedin in the Province of Otago and Colony of New Zealand Merchants carrying on business together in copartnership under the style and firm of "R. B. Martin and Co." Plaintiffs and EBENEZER HAMILTON of Port Chalmers in the Province of Otago aforesaid Engineer Defendant and in order that the Plaintiffs may proceed in the said action we command you that you and each of you do retain and keep all and singular the real and personal property of whatsoever nature in the custody or under the control of you or either of you at the time of the service of this writ belonging to the above named Defendant or to or in which such Defendant shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially interested and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons and all debts of every kind then due by you or either of you to such Defendant although the same or any part thereof may be payable only at a future day : And take notice that at the hour of eleven o’clock in the forenoon on the next day on which a Judge of this Honorable Court shall sit at his Chambers Supreme Court House Dunedin aforesaid after the publication of a copy of this Writ in the Otago Provincial Government Gazette application will be made to the said Judge to fix a day on which the said Court or a Judge thereof shall proceed to enquire into and determine the matters mentioned in Section 11 of the "Absent Debtors Act 1860."
