PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor Thomas Fraser, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

I, THOMAS FRASER, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, do by virtue and in exercise of the power vested in the Superintendent of the Province of Otago in this behalf by the “Roads Diversion Ordinance 1865,” and of the powers vested in me as Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, hereby proclaim and declare that all those Roads and all those portions of Roads in the Province of Otago, mentioned and referred to in the said “Roads Diversion Ordinance 1865,” and particularly described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from and after the day of the date hereof, cease to be public Roads or thoroughfares, and shall no longer form part of the public Roads in the several Road Districts in the Province of Otago, mentioned in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed.

SCHEDULE.

Silver Stream Road District.

  1. Sixteen (16) chains in length, sixty (60) links wide from north-east angle of section seven (7), block thirteen (13), Taieri; to road line on section eight (8), block thirteen (13), Taieri: Boundaries—north, by part of section one (1), block four (4), Dunedin and East Taieri, and section one (1), block fourteen (14), Taieri; south, by section seven (7), and part of section eight (8), block thirteen (13), Taieri.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this thirtieth day of August, 1869.

NOTICE.

The Provincial Government, being desirous of promoting the introduction and establishment of Woollen Manufactures in Otago, is anxious to receive offers from parties willing to embark in the enterprise; and is further prepared to pay a bonus for the production of Cloth, Blankets, or Yarn Manufactured with machinery to be made in the Province, or, if imported, to be from beyond New Zealand, as under:—

On the production of a quantity of any or either of the above articles to the value of £750 ... £500

On the production of a further quantity to the value of £1,000 ... £500

On the production of a further quantity to the value of £1,500 ... £500

Offers will be received until the 1st of December, 1869, at the Provincial Government Offices, Princes street, and should state the estimated cost and productive power of the machinery proposed to be erected; the date on which the same will be in operation; and that the parties are prepared to come under a bond to produce material to the value of £750 within two years from the date on which their offer is accepted.

The Government will not bind itself to accept any offer.
