NOTICE is hereby given, that the Agricultural Leases and Certificates, prepared in favor of the undermentioned persons, have been cancelled, and the Sections indicated are re-open for application for agricultural purposes.

PUBLIC NOTICE under Section 1, Regulation VI, of the Otago Gold Fields Rules and Regulations.
Sufficient proof having been shown to me that all that portion of the Otago Gold Fields described in the Schedule hereto annexed has been fairly tested, and is either wholly or for the greater part of an inferior character as regards its gold deposits, I hereby give notice that the same may be occupied by holders of miners' rights in claims of the undermentioned size, namely: One acre for each holder of a miner's right, provided that no block claim shall comprise more than six acres altogether.

SCHEDULE.
Comprising all that area commencing at the junction of the Idaburn with the Manuherikia river; thence by the Idaburn to the junction of the Poolburn; thence by the Poolburn to the junction of Moa Creek; thence by Moa Creek to main road from Clyde to Dunedin via Rock and Pillar; thence by the said main road to a point due south of the junction of Chatto Creek with the Manuherikia river; thence by a direct north and south line to Manuherikia river; and thence by the Manuherikia river to the starting point.
BLUESKIN CEMETERY RULES AND REGULATIONS.
The following Rules and Regulations have been submitted to the Superintendent and Executive Council, and are published for general information.
5th June, 1869.
Rules and regulations made in pursuance of Section V of "The Cemetery Reserves Management Ordinance 1864," for the management of the public Cemetery at Blueskin.

The managers shall divide a portion or portions of the Cemetery into two classes, viz:--

Class 1st being ground of which the perpetual and exclusive right may be acquired subject to the conditions required by the "Cemetery Reserves Management Ordinance 1864." Ground of this class shall be staked off in lairs or lots of 8ft. x 4ft. These lairs shall be sold, one lot for twelve shillings and sixpence, two or more lots adjoining each other for ten shillings each, and a fee of two shillings and sixpence shall be also paid for registering every purchase. No purchaser to be allowed to purchase more than four lots.

Class 2nd being a portion or portions of ground set aside for the interment of persons not purchasers of or not having acquired a right to private ground.
The charge for permission to inter one person in this class of ground, without purchase, will be five shillings each interment, exclusive of the grave-digger's fees, hereinafter mentioned, and of the fee payable for registering every interment made within the Cemetery upon the Cemetery books, as also hereinafter provided. On ground of Class 2nd, no memorial or monument whatever will be allowed, and no grave within it shall, under any circumstances, be opened for any new interment, sooner than after the expiry of five years from the time of the first or last interment in it as the case may be.
General Regulations and Bye-Laws.

All graves shall be six feet deep, but in the event of any purchasers of private ground desiring greater depth, an extra charge of three shillings per foot shall be paid by them.

The managers shall provide the necessary furniture and the attendance of a person within the Cemetery, for the purpose of properly conducting interments.

In all cases of intended interment, the person having the management or control of the same shall apply to the Clerk for the time being for warrant for such interment, which warrant the said Clerk is hereby authorised to grant upon payment to him of the following fees, viz:--
Digging grave (6ft. deep), attendance, and dressing ground ... 10s.
Registering interment and warrant ... 2s. 6d. -
No interment will be permitted until warrant has been granted. All parties who contravene or attempt to contravene this regulation, may be prosecuted for so doing.

Applications for warrants must be made between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 o'clock p.m. Other applications to be made also during these hours.

The said warrant must be presented to the grave-digger or sexton, and when received by him shall be deemed sufficient authority and instruction for his proceeding with such interment.

The Clerk for the time being shall keep a registry book in which he shall enter from time to time the number of every lot sold, the name of the purchaser thereof, together with the date of the sale of the same. He shall also keep a record book in which he shall register the burials in the Cemetery, stating the numbers seriatim, the names of the parties interred (if known), and the numbers of the lairs in which each is interred, together with the date on which he gave warrant for interment.

The Clerk for the time being shall receive the purchase money for the sale of lairs or lots, and shall give a receipt for the same, which receipt shall state the name of the purchaser, the number (seriatim) of the purchase, the numbers of the lair or lairs purchased, and the date of purchase, and shall be held conclusive evidence of the purchase of the lair or lairs mentioned therein.

A record plan of the Cemetery shall be prepared, showing particularly the number and position of each lair, which plan shall be in the care of the Clerk for the time being.

Any purchaser of private ground in which no interment shall have taken place, may transfer his or her interest in said ground to any other person upon payment being made to the Clerk for the time being of a fee of five shillings for such transfer.

The moneys accruing from the sales of lairs and the fees shall, after deducting therefrom all necessary expenses incurred and to be incurred, be expended in improving the Cemetery.

Parties who have friends interred in the Cemetery already, will be allowed to purchase, within three months, the ground in which those friends are buried, or as close thereto as the laying out of the Cemetery pathways will admit of.
