    more or less; and on the west by section 8, block IX,
    1180 links,

Waiwera Road District. (No. 48.)

  1. All that area in the Province of Otago, containing
    by admeasurement 6a. 0r. 32p., more or less, being a
    road line situate in the Awamoko Survey District;
    bounded towards the north by section No. 45, block IX,
    and sections numbered 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, and 37,
    block VIII, 6200 links, more or less; and towards
    the south by part of section No. 46, said block IX, and
    sections numbered 71, 70, 68, 65, 64, and 61, said
    block VIII, 6200 links,
    more or less.

WAITATI BRIDGE.—Tenders will be received
at the Office of the Secretary for Land and
Works until noon of Monday, 15th February, 1869,
for

Contract No. 359.—Construction of stone and iron
Bridge over the Waitati Stream, Main North Road.
Plans and specifications may be seen and forms of
tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads
and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed “Roads and Works Tender
for Contract No. 359.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the
lowest or any tender.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Applica-
tion made by William Hodgson, on behalf of
the Glen Syret Company, for a Gold Mining Lease of a
portion of ground on the Canada Reef, Table Hill
District, has been withdrawn, and the land is now open
for occupation.

PUBLIC NOTICE under Regulation VI. of the
Otago Gold Fields Rules and Regulations.

Sufficient proof having been shown to that the portion
of the Otago Gold Fields described in the Schedule
hereunto annexed has been fairly tested, and is either
wholly, or for the greater part, of an inferior character
as regards the value of its gold deposits, I hereby give
notice that the same may be occupied by holders of
Miners’ Rights in claims of the undermentioned size,
namely: one acre for each holder of a Miners’ Right,
provided that no block claim shall exceed more than
six acres altogether.

SCHEDULE.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Fields comprised
under the following boundaries: Bounded on the south
and west by the Arrow River, and on the north by
Tyler’s Terrace, measuring 316 links by 632 links.

PUBLIC NOTICE under Section 1, Regulation VI,
of the Otago Gold Fields Rules and Regulations.

Application having been made to me by Arthur B.
Gordon and party to declare that the portion of the
Otago Gold Field, described in the Schedule hereto,
may be occupied in claims of one acre in extent from
now, as provided under Section 1, Regulation VI.; I
hereby give notice that such application, together with
any objection thereto, will be heard and determined at
my office, at Naseby, on Thursday, January 7, 1869, at
11 o’clock in the forenoon.

SCHEDULE.

All that portion of the Otago Gold Field situate at
Naseby, and bounded as follows, viz.—Commencing at
the junction of Booth’s Gully with the Hogburn;
thence by a straight line to a point in Milkman’s Gully,
five hundred yards below the Hit or Miss dam; thence
by a straight line to the Hogburn at the junction of
Taradale Gully; and thence by the Hogburn to the
starting point.

CITY OF DUNEDIN.—Public notice is hereby
given, that the Valuator’s assessment for the year
1869 has been submitted to the City Council, and
allowed; that the same is deposited at my office, City
Council Chambers, New Post Office Buildings, Princes
Street, and may be daily inspected between the hours
of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. by any person interested
the same. It is further notified that any appeals
against the same must be lodged within 14 days from
the date of this notice.
