Wanted, on 4th December next, for Otepopo District School, a duly qualified Schoolmaster. In addition to Schoolmastership, satisfactory evidence of experience and success in school management and teaching is indispensable. Salary £100, and all the school fees, with a stone residence. At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of July, 1868.

WHEREAS by "The Petty Sessions Act 1858," it is enacted that the said Act shall come into operation in one or more of the Provinces of New Zealand respectively on such day or days to be fixed in respect of each of such Provinces by the Governor in Council, whereof notice shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette, and in the Gazette of the Province to which the same shall relate:

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance and exercise of the power so vested in him as aforesaid, doth hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, appoint and fix the first day of August next to be the day on and from which "The Petty Sessions Act 1858," shall come into operation in the Provinces of Hawke’s Bay, Marlborough, Otago, and Southland, respectively.
