✨ Marriage Districts Proclamation and Appointments
tricts, the names and boundaries whereof shall be as follows :-
Cromwell District
Comprises all that area bounded towards the North by the Province of Canterbury; towards the East by Oamaru and Blackstone Registration Districts; towards the South by the Dunstan Registration District; and towards the West by the Dunstan, Arrow, and Wakatip Registration Districts.
Dunstan District
Comprises all that area bounded by a line proceeding from the northern corner of Manuherikia Registration District to the Dunstan Creek, at its junction with the Manuherikia River; thence by the said Dunstan Creek to the Dunstan Mountains; thence by the Dunstan Mountains to the Clutha River; across the Clutha River and over Carnmuir Hill to the Carrick Ranges; and by the Carrick Ranges to the Kawarau River; thence by the Kawarau River to a point due north of Ben Nevis; thence by the range to Lorn Peak; thence by the Nokomai and Switzers and Manuherikia Districts to the starting point.
And I hereby declare that this proclamation shall come into operation and take effect on the second day of March, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Wellington, this twentieth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

SUBSCRIPTIONS will be at the rate of £1 per annum or 5s. per quarter, payable in advance to the Publisher. Single copies of the Gazette not to exceed 6d. Subscriptions may commence at any time, but must terminate not later than 31st December, 1868.
PRIVATE ADVERTISEMENTS will be charged at the rate of 6d. per line. Late Advertisements and table matter, 1s. per line, first insertion.
THE GAZETTE (with Supplement) is published every Wednesday morning, and Notices for Insertion must be received at the Publisher’s Office not later than 2 p.m. on the Tuesday preceding. Advertisements received after that hour will be charged 1s. per line. Any irregularity in the receipt of those Gazettes which are given gratis by the Government should be reported at once to the Provincial Secretary.
