ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, the seventh day of December, 1867.

Present:
THE PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly, intituled “The Medical Practitioners Act, 1867,” the Governor is authorised by Order in Council to nominate and appoint a Board consisting of not less than five nor more than ten members, of whom not less than two-thirds shall be members of the medical profession, and qualified to be registered under the said Act, one of whom shall be nominated by the Governor to be President of the said Board, and such Board shall be called “The Medical Board.”

And whereas it is further enacted, that the members of the said Board shall be nominated for a term of five years, and that the Board shall hold its first meeting within three months from the commencement of this Act, in such place and at such time as the Governor shall appoint:

Now therefore, His Excellency Sir George Grey, K.C.B., the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Colony, doth by this order nominate and appoint a Board, which shall consist of eight members, and shall be called “The Medical Board,” and doth hereby nominate as members of the said Board, for the term of five years, the following persons, namely—

James Hector, M.D.
Morgan Stanislaus Grace, M.D.
Leonard George Boor, M.R.C.S.
Alexander Johnston, M.D.
Thomas Moore Philson, M.D.
Samuel Athanasius Cusack, F.R.C.S.I.
James Somerville Turnbull, M.D.
Edward Hulme, M.D.

And of whom the said James Hector, M.D., shall be the President of the said Board.

And the Governor doth hereby appoint the Government Buildings, at the City of Wellington, and Tuesday, the seventh day of January next, at three o’clock p.m., as the place and time respectively in and at which the said Board shall hold its first meeting.
