PROCLAMATION.

Road District of Blue Mountain formed.

By His Honour James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts by forming and naming new districts;

And whereas it is expedient to form a new Road District, to be named the Blue Mountain Road District;

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area bounded as described in the Schedule hereto, shall, from the day of the date hereof, be constituted a Road District, and shall be named the Blue Mountain Road District.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at a point on the Main North Road at its crossing the southern boundary line of section 8, block IV, Moeraki Survey District; and from thence bounded on the east by the Main North Road to the Coal Reserve in block XI, Moeraki Survey District, and thence along road line forming boundary of section 30; thence bounded on the north by Watershed, through section 5, Block XI, and through Block XII to its northern boundary; thence following the northern boundary of said block XII to the eastern boundary of Block VIII; from thence bounded on the west by the eastern boundary of block VIII to the south-east angle of section 50; thence on the north by sections 50, 49, 48,

47, 46, 45, and 29, Block VIII, Moeraki Survey District; thence on the West by sections 30 and 32, said block VIII, and by the Dunstan Road, passing through blocks VII, V, and IV to the road line on section 2, block IV; thence on the south by said road line to the Main North Road at the point of commencement.

Given under my hand, and issued under the public seal of the Province of Otago, this eighth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.

NOTICE TO APPLICANTS FOR UNSURVEYED LAND,

under “Otago Waste Land Act, 1866.”

It is hereby notified to the Applicants whose names appear in the subjoined Schedule, that the Waste Land Board has declared them to be the purchasers of the sections set opposite to their names in the Schedule, and that the purchase money of these sections must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue in Dunedin, on or before Thursday, the 30th day of January, 1868, otherwise the application will be deemed withdrawn, cancelled, and void, and the deposit made at the time of lodging the application will be forfeited.
