20th December, Friday, noon, a red Bull will be sold at Hawksbury Pound.

20th December, Thursday, last day for paying Flagstaff Road Rate, at the house of David Miller, jun.

26th December, Thursday, last day for paying Waikouaiti Road Rate, at the house of David Miller, jun.

27th December, Friday, noon, a red bullock will be sold at Oamaru Pound.

27th December, Friday, noon, a bay mare, star on forehead, will be sold at East Taieri Pound.

3rd January, Friday, noon, a bay draught mare will be sold at Blueskin Pound.

3rd January, Friday, noon, 5 yearling heifers will be sold at Caversham Pound.

TENDERS will be received at the Office of the Secretary for Land and Works, until noon, of Monday, 30th December, for

Dunstan to Nevis.—Contract No. 276—Construction of about 55 Chains of Road on Line, "Clyde to Nevis."

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin, and at the Survey Office, Clyde.

Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Works Tender for Contract No. 276."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

  2. Port Chalmers to Heads.—Contract No. 281.—Construction of Bridle Path between Town Belt, Port Chalmers, and Boundary of Section 49, Block I, Lower Harbour.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of tender obtained at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Works, Tender for Contracts No. 280, and 281."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

  1. Pine Hill Road—Contract No. 277—Re-constructing Culverts, Reforming and Metalling portions of Pine Hill Road, between north end of present metalled portion and boundary of Block XI, in length about 65 chains.

  2. Pine Hill Road—Contract No. 278—Supply of 600 Cubic Yards of Road Metal on Pine Hill Road.

  3. Balclutha Bridge—Contract No. 279—Construction of Guide Piling, &c., at Drawbridge of Balclutha Bridge.

Plans and Specifications may be seen, and forms of Tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads and Works, Dunedin.

Tenders to be indorsed "Roads and Works Tender for Contracts Nos. 277, 278 and 279."

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.

The Government does not undertake to accept the lowest or any tender.


TENDERS are invited by the East Taieri Road Board for forming and metalling, at per chain, 90 or more chains of road. Plans and specifications to be seen at Mr. James Aitken’s Woodside Farm, with whom tenders must be lodged on or before noon, the 21st instant.
