NOTICE

Of closing certain Roads in the Caversham Road District

WHEREAS it is intended to stop up those Roads written, and which are also delineated on the map or plan mentioned and referred to in the “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1866,” a copy of which map or plan is deposited at the Public School of Caversham.

Now therefore I, James Macandrew, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf by the “Roads Diversion Ordinance, 1866,” do hereby give notice that all persons objecting to the stopping up of the said Roads or any of them, are required to set forth a statement in writing of any well-grounded objection they may have to the stopping up of the said Roads, and to leave such statement addressed to me at my office in Dunedin, within sixty days from the date hereof, otherwise such objections shall not be considered by me.

SCHEDULE.

Caversham Road District.—(No. 1.)

1. Twenty chains in length, sixty links wide, from District Road between sections twenty-one and twenty-two, block seven, Town District, to District Road between sections twenty-two and forty-one, said block. Boundaries: east, section twenty-two; west, sections forty-two, forty-three, forty-four, and forty-five, block seven, Town District.

2. Twenty chains in length, sixty links wide, from District Road between sections twenty-two and forty-one, block seven, Town District, to District Road between sections forty-one and fifty-four, said block. Boundaries: east, section forty-one; west, sections forty-six, forty-seven, forty-eight, and part of forty-nine, block seven, Town District.

PROCLAMATION.

Road District of Wangaloa altered and diminished.

By his Honor James Macandrew, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” it is amongst other things enacted that, until otherwise provided, pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there should be sixty-one Districts which should be named as specified in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed, marked B: And it is also by the said Ordinance provided that it should be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, from time to time, by proclamation in the Gazette, to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of such districts by forming and naming new districts:

And whereas it is expedient to alter and diminish the Road District of Wangaloa:

Now, therefore, I, James Macandrew, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Otago, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area bounded as described in the Schedule hereto shall, from the day of the date hereof, be the Wangaloa Road District.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at the mouth of the Matau River, and bounded on the west by said river and Kaitangata Creek to the north-west angle of Section 3, Block I, South Tuakitoto Survey District; thence on the north by a boundary line between Sections 3 and 4, said Block I, and said line continued to the watershed; thence on the west by said watershed to Two Stone Hill; thence on the north-west by a straight line to Trigonometrical Station J; thence on the north by Blocks III and IV, Kaitangata Survey District; thence on the east by Section 1, Block XIV, Coast District, to the
