11th September, Wednesday, noon, several tenders for Roads and Works due.—See last Advertisement Sheet.

13th September, Friday, noon, a dark bay mare, a roan cob horse, a black mare, a black filly, a bay riding mare, will be sold at Hampden Pound.

13th September, Friday, noon, a dark bay Mare, a roan Cob Horse, a black Mare, a black Horse, and a bay riding Mare will be sold at the Public Pound, Hampden.

16th September, Monday, last day for inspecting Caversham Roll at the house of Mr. William Simpson.

16th September, Monday, 3 o’clock p.m., Akatore Road Board to be elected at the house of Mr. John Hall.

18th September, Wednesday, last day for seeing North East Harbour Road Board Assessment Roll, at the house of Mr. James Sim.

20th September, Friday, noon, a bay Mare will be sold at East Taieri Pound.

27th September, Friday, noon, a bay mare and two chestnut colts will be sold at Popotunoa Pound.

27th September, Friday, noon, a bay cob horse will be sold at Oamaru Pound.

ELECTION OF LOCAL BOARDS OF ROAD TRUSTEES.

Notice is hereby given that in pursuance of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” the first meetings of persons liable to be rated are hereby appointed to be held as follows, viz.:—That in the Windsor Road District, at the farm of Mr. E. B. Atkinson, Pig Island, on Thursday, the 26th September, now next, at 12 o’clock noon; and that in the Enfield Road District at the house of Mr. Robert Hunter, on Wednesday 25th September next, at three o’clock in the afternoon, both within said Districts respectively, for purpose of electing Local Boards for year 1867-8.

Note.—The attention of Ratepayers is specially directed to clauses 9, 10, and 11 of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” for mode of procedure at electoral meetings.

GENERAL ROAD BOARD.—NOTICE.

Monthly meetings of the Board will be held the first Thursday in every month, within the office of the Secretary of Lands and Works, Government Buildings, Dunedin, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon.


The following persons have been elected to serve as Trustees for the Road District of West Harbor for the year 1867-8.

TOMAHAWK ROAD DISTRICT.—NOTICE.

The Assessment Roll for said district can be inspected fourteen days from date at the house of Mr. Patrick, Tomahawk, between the hours of 10 A.M. and 4 P.M., Sundays and public holidays excepted.
