NOTICE TO RUNHOLDERS IN THE PROVINCE OF OTAGO.—Return of Stock and Payment of Assessment.—The Runholders in the Province of Otago are reminded that a Return of Great and Small Cattle depastured on the Lands comprised in their leases, must be lodged at the Land Office in the month of September of each year, in terms of Clause LXX of the "Otago Waste Lands Act, 1866," and that the Assessment of sevenpence per head for Small Cattle and three shillings and sixpence per head for Great Cattle, must be paid to the Receiver of Land Revenue, on the first day of October thereafter, or their Runs will be inevitably forfeited.

IMMIGRATION TO OTAGO.—Urgent representations having been made to the Provincial Government as to the scarcity of agricultural labourers, notice is hereby given to those employers who, through their friends and connections in the mother country, can hire suitable labourers, that the Government is prepared to issue passage orders from Glasgow to the Province on payment of £10 per statute adult. The same facilities will also be given to others than agricultural employers who may wish to engage their own workpeople in the home country; the only stipulation which the Government makes in either case is, that public aid shall be strictly confined to importation of bona fide labour suitable to the actual requirements of the Province.

IMPOUNDING.—The horse advertised to be sold at South Dunedin on 30th August, has been claimed.

IMPOUNDED on the 5th day of August, 1867, by James Allan, of Hampden (Ranger), one dark bay Mare, branded WT near shoulder; one roan cob Horse, has had a sore back, no visible brand; one black Mare, branded A I near shoulder; one black Horse, about three years old, light hack, no visible brand; one bay riding Mare, branded O off shoulder; owners unknown; for trespassing on the Moeraki Hundreds, for which the sum of two pounds each is claimed; and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hampden, on the 13th day of September, 1867, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 21st day of August, 1867, by John Kirkland, one bay Mare, branded H off shoulder, white spots under saddle, star on forehead, like small s near neck; owner unknown; for trespassing on Mr. Kirkland’s paddock, for which no damages are claimed, and in default of being released, the above Mare will be sold at the Public Pound at East Taieri on Friday, the 20th day of September, 1867, at 12 o’clock noon.

HARBOR, DUNEDIN.—Notice is hereby given, that if the Two Punts at present lying sunk between the Rattray street and Jetty street Jetties, and the Two Punts at present lying sunk near the Stuart street Jetty, be not removed within fourteen days from this date, they will "Be removed by order of the Harbor Master, at the risk and expense of the owner, who shall be further liable to a penalty not exceeding £20."

ROAD RATES.—CAVERSHAM DISTRICT.—Notice is hereby given that the Caversham District Road Board have resolved to levy an assessment of one shilling per acre on the District for the requirements of the current year, and that the Assessment Roll as prepared by the Board, will be open for inspection by the rate-payers at my house here for 14 days from Monday, the 2nd September prox., between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day, Sundays excepted.
