25th July, Thursday, last day for inspecting Assessment Roll at the School House, for Portobello Road District.

1st August, Thursday, 11 a.m., proposal to extend the boundaries of Waipori Road District, to be brought before the General Road Board.

1st August, Thursday, 11 o’clock, West Taieri Road Board will apply to General Road Board for power to levy further Rates on Lands, Houses, &c., within the District.

1st August, Thursday, 11 o’clock, East Taieri Road Board will apply to General Road Board for authority to levy further Rates on Annual Value of Property.

1st August, Thursday, 11 o’clock, General Road Board will consider and decide upon application to unite the Road Boards of Sawyer’s Bay and Havant.

GLENAVON ROAD DISTRICT.—Election of a Local Board of Road Trustees.—Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” the first meeting of persons liable to be rated is hereby appointed to be held at the house of Mr. Wm. Strain, within the said district, on Friday, the 9th day of August, 1867, at 12 o’clock, for the purpose of electing a Local Board of Road Trustees for the year ensuing.

Note.—The attention of ratepayers is specially directed to the 9th, 10th, and 11th Clauses of the “Otago Road Ordinance, 1865,” for mode of procedure at electoral meetings, and other information.

NOTICE.—SALE OF CROWN LANDS.—Section 10, Block IX, 11, Block IX, and 20, Block II, Town of Outram; Sections 5, Block I, and 12, Block IV, Town of Balclutha; Sections 21 and 22, Block XVII, 34, Block LXXIII, 27, Block LXXII, 6, Block LXXI, and 15, Block XVII, Oamaru Town, having been offered for sale by auction and not sold: Notice is hereby given that applications have been made to purchase the same at the upset price, in accordance with the 27th Section of the “Waste Lands Act, 1866.” Any person other than the present applicants, desirous of purchasing such Sections, must apply for the same at the Land Office, Dunedin, on or before Wednesday, the 14th day of August next, otherwise the said lands will be sold to the before mentioned applicants, on the date before stated.

TELEGRAPHIC CHARGES.—On and after the First day of August, 1867, the following Scale of Charges will come into force on the lines undermentioned.

EDUCATION RESERVES.—The Leases of the undermentioned Education Reserves will be disposed of by public auction, in the sale rooms of Messrs. Driver, Maclean and Co., High-street, Dunedin, upon the following-mentioned dates, viz.:

The Reserves in the districts of Moeraki, Waikouaiti, Palmerston, North Harbor and Blueskin, upon Monday, the 12th August, immediately after the sale of the Crown Lands in the Hundreds of Dunedin and East Taieri.

The Reserves in the Districts of Maungatua and Clarendon, upon Tuesday, the 13th August, immediately after the sale of the Crown Lands in the Hundreds of West Taieri and Waihola.
