NOTICE.—SALE OF CROWN LANDS.—Section

10, Block IX, 11, Block IX, and 20, Block II,
Town of Outram; Sections 5, Block I, and 12, Block IV, Town of Balclutha; Sections 21 and 22, Block XVII, 34, Block LXXIII, 27, Block LXXI, 6, Block LXXI, and 15, Block XVII, Oamaru Town, having been offered for sale by auction and not sold: Notice is hereby given that applications have been made to purchase the same at the upset price, in accordance with the 27th Section of the “Waste Lands Act, 1866.” Any person other than the present applicants, desirous of purchasing such Sections, must apply for the same at the Land Office, Dunedin, on or before Wednesday, the 14th day of August next, otherwise the said lands will be sold to the before mentioned applicants, on the date before stated.

WEST TAIERI ROAD DISTRICT.—Notice is

hereby given that in accordance with Clause XXXI of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” the Local Board of the above district will make application to the General Road Board, at its next meeting, for authority to levy future rates on an assessment of the annual value of all lands, houses, mills, &c., within such district.

IMMIGRATION TO OTAGO.—Urgent representations

having been made to the Provincial Government as to the scarcity of agricultural labourers, notice is hereby given to those employers who, through their friends and connections in the mother country, can hire suitable labourers, that the Government is prepared to issue passage orders from Glasgow to the Province on payment of £10 per statute adult.
The same facilities will also be given to others than agricultural employers who may wish to engage their own workpeople in the home country; the only stipulation which the Government makes in either case is, that public aid shall be strictly confined to importation of bona fide labour suitable to the actual requirements of the Province.

SAWYERS’ BAY AND HAVANT ROAD DISTRICTS.—ANNEXATION of DISTRICTS.—Notice

is hereby given that application has been made to the General Road Board for Board’s assent to the uniting of the two Road Districts of “Sawyers’ Bay and Havant” as at present constituted, for the purpose of forming one District to be called the “West Harbor Road District,” and to be comprised within the undermentioned boundaries, viz.: Commencing at N.W. angle of Section 51, Block IX, North Harbour and Blueskin, and is bounded on the north by Sections 50, 30, 29, 28, 27, 31, 32, 39, 37, said Block IX; thence on the west by Section 36, said Block IX, and Section 82, North East Valley, to the Main Road to Port Chalmers; thence on the north by said road to Port Chalmers Town Belt; on the east by said Town Belt to Sawyers’ Bay; thence on the south by the Otago Harbour to the Dunedin Town Belt; thence on the west by said Dunedin Town Belt to point of commencement.
And notice is hereby further given that the General Road Board will, at its next monthly meeting, to be held at Dunedin on Thursday the first day of August next at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, proceed to consider and decide upon such application.—Notice of objections to be lodged by or before Wednesday the 31st July inst.
