ELECTION OF LOCAL BOARDS.--

Notice is hereby given that, in pursuance of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” the First Meetings of Persons liable to be rated are hereby appointed to be held at the times and places within the districts after-mentioned, for purpose of electing qualified persons to serve as Members of Local Boards for year ensuing.

Flagstaff Friday, June 21 Mr. P. Jenkins’ house, at noon
Havant Mr. T. C. De Lacy’s house, at noon

NOTE.--The attention of Ratepayers is specially directed to the 9th, 10th, and 11th Clauses of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” for mode of procedure at Electoral Meetings, and other information.

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OBSERVATORY,

Port Chalmers. Lat. 45° 48' 55" South. Lon. 170° 39' 36.5s. E. On and after 1st June, 1867, the Time Ball will be dropped daily (Sundays excepted) at 1 p.m., Port Chalmers Meantime, or 1h. 37m. 23" 5 a.m., Greenwich Meantime.

NOTICE

Notice is Hereby Given that a Sitting of the Supreme Court will be holden at the Court House, Dunedin, on Monday, the 24th day of June next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of transacting all business arising out of the Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act.

LOCAL BOARDS ROAD TRUSTEES.--

Notice--The attention of the various Clerks or Treasurers is called to the XXV Clause of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” which enacts that “An abstract of accounts shall be published in the Gazette or in a newspaper circulating within the district within one month after the accounts are audited and signed, and any Clerk or Treasurer neglecting to make up such accounts, or failing to publish the abstract thereof as aforesaid, shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding Five Pounds.”

MERTON ROAD.--

NOTICE.--Parties in arrears are hereby warned that legal proceedings will at once be taken to recover the Rates.

EDUCATION RESERVES.--

Printed Copies of the Education Board’s Amended Regulations and Conditions for the Leasing of the Education Reserves may now be had on application.

A list of Reserves to be offered for Lease will shortly be published; meanwhile, applications for Reserves will be received at this office.

CORSTORPHINE DISTRICT ROAD BOARD.--

Tenders wanted for Cutting and Levelling a Hill in the Green Island Bush, at per cubic yard. Also, for Forming and Metalling about Nine chains of road. Also, Tenders for supplying a quantity of Metal for repairing a part of the road already metalled.

For particulars, apply to Mr. PETER M’LAREN, Treasurer, or PETER WRIGHT, Clerk to the Local Board, on or before 15th inst.
