ELECTION NOTICE.—ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF TAIERI.—In pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858,” I, James Fulton, Esquire, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Taieri, do hereby give notice that, by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the tenth day of January, 1867, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an Election will be held for the return of Four qualified persons to serve as Members of the Provincial Council of the Province of Otago for the said Electoral District; and that the Nomination of Candidates will take place at the School-house, East Taieri, on Monday, the fourth day of March, 1867; and that the Poll, if necessary, will be taken on Thursday, the seventh day of March, 1867.

NOTICE is hereby given, that a Sitting of the Supreme Court in its Insolvency Jurisdiction will be held at the Court House, Dunedin, on Monday, the 18th day of March next, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of transacting all business arising under the Debtors and Creditors’ Acts.

The next meeting of the General Road Board is appointed to be held on Thursday, the 7th day of March now next, at 12 o’clock, at the Government Offices, Dunedin.

WAIWERA ROAD DISTRICT.—Election of Local Board of Road Trustees.—The Ratepayers in the Waiwera Road District having failed to attend the meeting for the election of Road Trustees to serve for the residue of the ensuing year, as advertised in the Supplement to the Otago Provincial Government Gazette, No. 435; Notice is hereby given, that a Meeting is appointed to take place on Friday, March 8th now next, at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, at Mr. John Anderson’s, Kelvin Grove, within the said district, for the purpose of electing such Local Board.
Note.—Special attention is directed to the 11th clause of the “Otago Roads Ordinance, 1865,” for mode of proceeding, &c., at electoral meetings.
REGISTRATION FORMS may be obtained gratis from any of the Registration Officers in the Province. The claim must be lodged with the respective Registration Officer before the end of the month of March, 1867.
NOTICE TO SHEEP OWNERS.—Mr. Sub-Inspector Hector McN. Campbell has been removed from Taieri Lake to Waikouaiti, which will be his future address.

SANDYMOUNT ROAD DISTRICT.—NOTICE.
The local Board of the above District hereby notify their intention to apply to the General Road Board at the next meeting, for authority to levy a rate of one shilling per acre over the whole district for the year 1867; also, the assessment roll for said District may be inspected at the house of Archibald McKay on every day not being Sunday or public holiday, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., from the 27th February to the 13th March, 1867, both inclusive.

IMPOUNDED.—On the 23rd day of February, 1867, by David Croall, one Chesnut Horse, branded like the letter S off neck; owner unknown; trespassing on Barewood station; for which £3 damages are claimed, and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at West Taieri, on Friday, the 22nd day of March, 1867, at 12 o’clock noon.

PEREMPTORY NOTICE TO THE RATEPAYERS.—North-East Valley District Road Board.—Take Notice that unless all Rates due this Trust be paid at the School-house, North-east Valley, on Saturday next, the 2nd March, 1867, between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m., no further application will be made, but summary proceedings immediately taken to recover said rates in terms of Road Ordinance. The Treasurer and Collector will be in attendance.

All that area within the Province of Otago, bounded towards the north by the Province of Canterbury from Awarua Bay to the eastern shore of the Wanaka Lake, thence by the said eastern shore of the Wanaka Lake and the Clutha River to the Dunstan Mountains, thence by the Dunstan Mountains to Mount St. Bathans, thence by the Hawkdun Mountains, the Kakanui Mountains, and the Horse Ranges to the Ocean, thence towards the east by the Ocean to the Clutha River, thence in a northerly direction along the Clutha River to Scrubburn, thence due west across the Clutha River, thence by the watershed of Black Cleughburn to the Tapanui Ranges, thence to Rankleburn at its source, and by Rankleburn Pomahaka, and Waipahi Rivers, to the southern boundary line of Run numbered 167, thence by the said southern boundary line to the Waikaka Stream, and by the Waikaka Stream to the Mataura River, and by the Mataura River to the northern boundary line of the Province of Southland to the Manipori Lake, thence by the Waiau River to the Ocean, and thence towards the west and south by the Ocean to Awarua Bay, the starting point.
WANTED, information about Job and Zacharias Curnow, belonging to Gwithian, near Hayle, Cornwall, who arrived in Melbourne per ship “Norfolk,” in 1861, and soon after proceeded to the Otago Gold Fields. Any intelligence regarding the above-mentioned persons will be received by the Immigration Agent, Dunedin, for transmission to their friends in Britain.
