STAMP DUTIES ACT, 1866. — Licensed
Distributors are informed that the Commission hitherto
allowed only on purchases of Adhesive Stamps of the
amount of Five Pounds (£5) and upwards, will, on and
after the first of February, be allowed on such pur-
chases when of the amount of Two Pounds (£2) and
upwards.

REWARDS FOR THE DISCOVERY OF ILLICIT DISTILLATION.
It is hereby notified that Rewards, varying in amount
from Five Pounds to Fifty Pounds, will be given for
such information as may lead to the detection and con-
viction of persons engaged in Illicit Distillation.

The rewards will vary in amount in proportion to the
importance of the seizure, will be payable immediately
upon conviction being obtained; and will be in addition
to the portion of the fine or of the proceeds of the
seizure which by law is to be paid to the person afford-
ing the information.

Information may be given to any Collector of Customs,
or Officer of Police, throughout the Colony.

The name of the person giving information will not
be divulged, except with his own consent.

CROMWELL TO QUEENSTOWN. — Tenders will
be received, at the Office of the Secretary for
Public Works, until noon of Monday, the 11th Feb-
uary, for Contract No. 204. — Construction of portions
of Road near Arrow Cliff.

Plans and specifications may be seen, and forms of
tender obtained, at the Office of the Engineer of Roads
and Works, Dunedin; and at the Office of the District
Engineer, Cromwell.

Tenders to be endorsed “Roads and Works — Tender
for Contract No. 204.”

The Government does not undertake to accept the
highest or any tender.

HUNDREDS. — Election of Wardens. — List of
Persons to whom Depasturing Licences have
been issued within the Hundreds of Dunedin, West
Taieri, Waihola, North Tokomairiro, South Tokomai-
riro, West Clutha, Popotunoa, Tuauru, Mokereta,
Waitahuna, Waikouaiti, Hawksbury, Moeraki, Otepopo,
Oamaru, Awamoko, Kakanui, and Maraewaia, for the
year 1867, with the places and dates where the meet-
ings for the election of Wardens will be held, and the
number of Wardens to be elected for each Hundred.

see Advertisement Sheet of 30th January, 1867.)

In terms of the XIX Clause of the “Otago Waste
Lands Act, 1866,” I hereby call meetings of the persons
whose names appear in the above lists, to elect
from among themselves, by a majority of votes, persons
to act as Wardens within the before named Hundreds,
for the year 1867; such meetings to be held at the
following places, and the number of Wardens to be
elected as under specified, viz., for

Dunedin Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — in the
Land Office, Dunedin, on Thursday, the 14th February
next, at 12 o’clock.

West Taieri Hundred, 5 Wardens. Meeting — at
the School House, Waipori Lake, on Wednesday, the
13th February next, at 12 o’clock.

Waihola Hundred, 5 Wardens. Meeting — at the
Court House, Tokomairiro, on Monday, the 18th Feb-
uary, at 12 o’clock.

North Tokomairiro Hundred, 5 Wardens. Meeting
— at the Court House, Tokomairiro, on 18th February,
after the election for Waihola.

South Tokomairiro Hundred, 5 Wardens. Meeting
— at the Court House, Tokomairiro, on 18th February,
after the election for North Tokomairiro.

Waitahuna Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — at the
School House, Glenore, on Saturday, the 16th February,
at 12 o’clock.

West Clutha Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — at
the Court House, Balclutha, on Tuesday, the 19th
February, at 12 o’clock.

Popotunoa Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — at the
School House, Wairuna, on Thursday, the 21st Feb-
uary, at 12 o’clock noon.

Tuauru Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — at Mr.
Stewart Shanks’ Home Station, on Friday, 22nd February,
at 12 o’clock noon.

Moeraki Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — at the
house of H. J. Squires, on Saturday, the 23rd Febru-
ary, at 12 o’clock.

Waikouaiti Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — at the
Kilmogar Hotel, Blueskin, on Tuesday, the 19th
February, at 12 o’clock.

Hawksbury Hundred, 5 Wardens. Meeting — at the
Court House, there, on Wednesday, the 20th February,
at 12 o’clock.

Moeraki Hundred, 5 Wardens. Meeting — at the
School House, Hampden, on Thursday, the 21st Feb-
uary, at 12 o’clock.

Otepopo Hundred, 5 Wardens. Meeting — at the
School House, Herbert, on Monday, the 18th February,
at 12 o’clock.

Oamaru Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — at the
Court House, there, at 10 o’clock a.m., on Tuesday,
19th February.

Awamoko Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — 19th,
after election for Oamaru.

Kakanui Hundred, 3 Wardens. Meeting — 19th,
