PROCLAMATION,
Extending the limits of the Mount Benger Gold Field, within the Province of Otago.
By His Honor Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the said Province.
WHEREAS it is desirable to alter and extend the limits of the Mount Benger Gold Field, in the Province of Otago;—Now therefore I, Thomas Dick, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, by virtue of the powers delegated to and vested in me by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, under and by virtue of the “Gold Fields Acts Amendment Act, 1865,” do hereby Proclaim and Declare that the Lands hereinafter described shall henceforth be included within and form part of the Mount Benger Gold Field under the provisions of the said Act, that is to say: All that area situate in the south-eastern District of the Province of Otago, containing by admeasurement twenty-seven thousand acres, more or less; bounded by a line commencing at a point on the Black Cleugh Burn, where it is intersected by the present boundary line of the Mount Benger Gold Field, thence proceeding along the said Black Cleugh Burn and its western branch to its source, thence to the summit of the Tapanui Range, thence along the said Range and over North Peak to the boundary of the Nokomai Gold Field, thence in an easterly direction to the boundary of the present Mount Benger Gold Field, and thence in a southerly direction to the Black Cleugh Burn, the starting point.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, this seventeenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

HIS Honor the Deputy-Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has, under the “Cemeteries Reserves Management Ordinance, 1864,” appointed the following persons, viz:—
Mr. Donald Borrie,
Mr. Robert Harvey,
to be Managers of the Reserve set aside for the purpose of a Public Cemetery by the “Cemeteries Reserves Ordinance, 1864,” in section No. 16, irregular block, West Taieri District, in the Province of Otago, vice Mr. James Borrie, senr., deceased, and Mr. Robert Sinclair Gardner, who has removed from the District.
Also, that His Honor has been pleased to appoint The Rev. William Gillies, to be a Manager of the said Reserve.
