PROCLAMATION

Of the appointment of Trustees under the “Oamaru Mechanics’ Institute Reserve Management Ordinance, 1865.”

By His Honor Bryan Cecil Haggitt, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago.

BRYAN CECIL HAGGITT, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in pursuance and exercise of the power vested in the Superintendent of the said Province for the time being, under the “Oamaru Mechanics’ Institute Reserve Management Ordinance, 1865,” do hereby nominate and appoint

John Allan, Esquire, J.P.,
James Hassell, Esquire, J.P.,
James Ashcroft, Esquire, and
George Sumpter, Esquire,

as and to be Trustees for the purpose of carrying into effect the objects and provisions of the “Oamaru Reserves Ordinance, 1865,” in respect of the land particularly described in the Schedule to the said “Oamaru Mechanics’ Institute Reserve Management Ordinance, 1865.”

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at Dunedin, this twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has, by virtue of the powers delegated to him in that behalf by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, in Council, under the authority of the Gold Fields Acts Amendment Act, 1865, appointed

Edward Croker, Esq., R.M.,

to be Warden of the Gold Fields Reserves within the Waitahuna District, for depasturing stock under the


Regulations proclaimed and published in the Provincial Government Gazette of 28th March last, No. 413, vice
Charles Worthington.

His Honor the Deputy-Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has appointed

Mr. James Mills,
Gunmaker, Dunedin,

to be Keeper of the Powder Magazine opposite Dunedin.

SCHEDULE of charges to be paid on packages of Gunpowder deposited in the Powder Magazine opposite Dunedin.

For each and every barrel or package s. d.
containing 50 lbs. of Gunpowder and upwards, for any period not exceeding four weeks... 1 0
Ditto, ditto, above four weeks, per week 0 2
For each and every barrel or package containing less than 50 lbs., for any period not exceeding four weeks... 0 6
Ditto, ditto, above four weeks, per week 0 1

The expenses of conveying the Keeper of the Magazine to and from Dunedin to be paid in all cases by the parties who store the powder.


IMPOUNDED

on the 19th July, 1866, by Robert Sutherland, one white Cow, with red neck, branded near rump, with blotch brand on off rump, for trespassing on North Tokomairiro Hundred; and in default of being released, will be sold at the Public Pound, Tokomairiro, on Friday, the 17th August, 1866, at 12 o’clock noon.
