WEST TAIERI EDUCATIONAL DISTRICT.
NOTICE is hereby given, that in consequence of the qualified Electors of West Taieri Educational District having failed to elect a School Committee, upon the annual election day in October, 1864, His Honor the Superintendent, in pursuance of the provisions of the “Education Ordinance, 1864,” has been pleased to fix Friday, the 26th day of May, 1865, for the election of a new School Committee for the said Educational District of West Taieri, within the School-house, at 7 o’clock p.m.

CUSTOMS NOTICE.
THERE will be sold by auction within the Custom House, Dunedin, on Monday, the 15th day of May next, in conformity with the provisions of the “Customs Regulation Act, 1858,” if not previously cleared for duty, the following Goods, viz. :—
1 hhd. 59 gal. Gin, 52 gallons.
1 ½ 6 thirty-eight cases Brandy, containing 64 gallons.
Given under my hand at the Custom House, Dunedin, this 29th day of April, 1865.

IMPOUNDED
on the 27th day of April, 1865, by Abel Kerr, Ranger, Waihola Hundreds, one strawberry Cow, and Calf, branded—FG [with figure 1 inside the G] off rump, owner unknown, for trespassing on Waihola Hundred, for which one pound damages is claimed; and in default of being released the above will be sold at the public pound, Tokomairiro, on Friday, the 26th May, 1865, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 28th day of April, 1865, by Constable Carter—1 roan Gelding, branded W high shoulder, supposed to have been brought by some person from the Tuapeka or Lake District, and sent adrift, owner unknown, trespassing on public roads; and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound at Caversham, on Friday, the 26th day of May, 1865, at 12 o’clock noon.

SCALE of Charges for Advertisements not to exceed the following, and to be paid to the Publisher:—
1 to 2 insertions inclusive, 4s. per inch per insertion.
3 to 5 insertions inclusive, 3s. per inch per insertion.
6 to 11 insertions inclusive, 2s. 9d. per inch per insertion.
12 to 23 insertions inclusive, 2s. 6d. per inch per insertion.
24 to 35 insertions inclusive, 2s. 3d. per inch per insertion.
36 insertions and upwards, 2s. per inch per insertion.
Advertisements, to ensure insertions, must be left with the Publisher not later than 2 o’clock on the day previous to publication; but short advertisements will be received up till 4 o’clock.
Any person desirous of obtaining the Advertising Sheet, will please leave his address at the Superintendent’s Office. No charge will be made for the said Sheet, or for the delivery thereof. Any irregularity in the receipt of the Advertising Sheet should be reported at once to the Provincial Secretary.
