Road District Elections and Land Sales




N. E. VALLEY ROAD DISTRICT.—At the School-house, within the said district, on Thursday, the 23rd day of March, at 8 o’clock p.m.

PINE HILL ROAD DISTRICT.—At the house of Mr. John Gray, within the said district, on Wednesday, the 22nd day of March, at 7 o’clock p.m.

WAIPORI ROAD DISTRICT.—At the School-house, within the said district, on Wednesday, the 22nd day of March, at 4 o’clock p.m.

HENLEY ROAD DISTRICT.—At the house of Mr. John Collie, within the said district, on Saturday, the 25th day of March, at 12 o’clock noon.

The boundaries of the several districts are described and published as under, viz., those of the Saddle Hill Walton, Greyton, Brighton, Kurimoko, Motupipi, and Otakia, by proclamation in the Government Advertising Sheet of 25th January; those of Milburn, Helensbrook, Milton, Hillingdon, Coombe Hay, Southbridge, Glenore, Adamsthorpe, and Lovelbrook, in the Government Advertising Sheet of 8th February; those of Port Molyneux, Puerua, Otanomomo, and Finegand in the Advertising Sheet of the 15th February; of Kaitangata, Tuaikoto, North Molyneux, and Stony Creek, in the Advertising Sheet of the 16th February; and those of the North East Valley, Pine Hill, Waipori, and Henley, in the Advertising Sheet of the 22nd February.

Special attention is directed to the 7th and 9th sections of the “Roads Ordinance, 1856,” regulating the proceedings of meetings for the election of District Boards of Road Trustees.

ELECTION NOTICE.

ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF MANUHERIKIA.

IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858,” I, William Buchanan, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Manuherikia, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a Writ, bearing date the sixteenth day of February, 1865, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent of the Province, an Election will be held for the return of a qualified person to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council for the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Station of Messrs. Hepburn & M’Master, Maniototo Plains, on Monday, the thirteenth day of March, 1865; and that the Poll (if necessary) will be taken on Thursday, the sixteenth day of March 1865.
