ABSTRACT FROM ADVERTISING SHEETS.
23rd February, Friday (at noon), Two Horses to be sold at Hampden Pound.
6th March, Monday (at noon), Three Horses to be sold at Tokomairiro Pound.
7th March, Tuesday (at noon), Horses to be sold at Tokomairiro Pound.
10th March, Friday (at noon), Horses to be sold at East Taieri Pound.
10th March, Friday (at noon), a Gelding to be sold at North Dunedin Pound.
14th March, Tuesday (at noon), Meetings of Justices within the various Licensed Districts, to consider applications for Licenses, &c.

PROCLAMATION.
North-East Valley Road District divided and diminished, and the Pine Hill Road District formed.
By His Honor John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Otago, intituled the “Roads Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1862,” it is among other things enacted in the 12th section thereof, that for the purposes of the said Ordinance the said Province, except as is therein excepted, may, from time to time, be divided into districts; and until otherwise provided pursuant to the provisions of the said Ordinance, there shall be twenty-five districts, which shall be named and bounded as described in the Schedule to the said Ordinance annexed; and it is also in the said 13th section provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent, with the advice and consent of the General Road Board, from time to time to alter, vary, diminish, or enlarge the boundaries of any or all of such districts, and to increase the number of districts, by forming and naming new districts, or by dividing any district into two or more districts.
And whereas in the said Schedule the North East Valley Road District therein named is described as comprising all that area bounded on the north by the watershed of the range extending from Mihiwaka to Point Heyward; on the east and south by the Harbour and the town of Port Chalmers; and on the west by Pelichet Creek; thence by the watershed of the ranges extending over Signal Hill and Mount Cargill to Mihiwaka.
And whereas it is expedient to divide and diminish the said North East Valley Road District, and to form a new Road District, to be named “The Pine Hill Road District,”
Now therefore I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the said Province, with the advice and consent of the Otago General Road Board, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said North East Valley Road District shall, from the day of the date hereof, be divided and diminished, and that from the day of the date hereof there shall be a new Road District, to be named “The Pine Hill Road District,” and that henceforth the “Pine Hill Road District” shall comprise all that area bounded on the north-west by part of block VIII, and sections 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, and 2, block XI; thence by a direct line through sections 18 and 16, Block X, and sections 13, 12, 9, 8, 7, 6, 3, and 2, block X; on the south-west by the Dunedin Town Belt and sections 51 and 53, block IX; on the south by sections 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, and 61, block IX; on the south-east by sections 26, 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, and 7, block IX; on the north-east by section 6; thence to the south-eastward by sections 5 and 8; thence on the north-east by sections 4 and 83, block IX, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, sections 84 and 85, North East Valley Survey District, and section 42, block VII, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; and that The Pine Hill Road District shall comprise all that area bounded on the north by block III, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; on the west by the Water of Leith and the Dunedin Town Belt; on the south-east by part of North East Valley Survey District, to section 13; thence by sections 10, 11, 14, 15, a direct line through sections 16 and 18, block X, to the north-west corner of section 1, block XI, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District; thence by sections 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, and 15 of the last-named block; on the east by the eastern boundary of block XI; thence by a direct line to the south-west angle of block XII, and by block XII to block III, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District.
