NOTICE.
THE Public are requested to observe the rule that
business with the Land Office cannot be transacted by correspondence, but persons requiring
information or having business to transact, must
attend personally or by an agent. This rule will be
rigidly enforced on and after the 1st of February
next, the right by the Commissioner of Crown Lands
to frank letters having been withdrawn.
The receipt of letters sent through the Post will
not be acknowledged, and such letters, if the postage
be not prepaid, will be refused.

IMPOUNDED on the 23rd day of January, 1865,
by Thomas Morris, Mount Pleasant, for trespassing on his grounds, one bay Horse, branded 8C on
neck, off side, 384 off side under saddle, 1 on near
shoulder; and in default of being released, the above
cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, Port
Chalmers, on the 17th day of February, 1865.
DAVID KILGOUR.
IMPOUNDED on the 27th day of January, 1865, by
M. S. Gleeson, Esq., one bay mare, branded KS
under saddle, near side; also, one roan horse, branded
JBIV near shoulder, owner unknown, trespassing on
private lands, for which the sum of four shillings each
is claimed, and in default of being released, the above
cattle will be sold at the Public Pound at Hampden,
on the 24th day of February, 1865, at 12 o'clock noon.

5 REWARD.—Stolen on 25th November, a Bay
Mare, branded H on near neck, JC, in circle,
on off shoulder, H on near shoulder, barely visible,
star on forehead, blaze down nose, and diamond star
between nostrils; saddle and collar marked; all black
points, 15 hands high. Anyone bringing her to the
undersigned, will receive the above reward.
