By His Excellency Sir GEORGE GREY, Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, &c.
IN exercise of the power in me for this purpose vested by "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858," I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the PORT OF TAIERI, in the Province of Otago, shall be no longer a Port of Entry for the purposes of "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858."
Given under my hand, at Government House at Wellington, this thirteenth day of November, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.

WHEREAS an action is now pending in our Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, between George Murray, trading as “Murray, Kerr and Co.,” of Dunedin aforesaid, Merchant, Plaintiff; and Edward Norman, lately of Dunedin aforesaid (trading in co-partnership with Frank Tritton as “Frank Tritton,” of Dunedin aforesaid) Hotelkeeper, Defendant: And in order that the Plaintiff may proceed in his action, we command you and each of you that you do retain and keep all and singular lands and hereditaments, moneys and chattels, bills, bonds, and other property of whatsoever nature in the custody or under the control of either of you at the time of the service of this writ belonging to the above-named Defendant, or to or in which the said Defendant shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially interested, and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons, and all debts of any kind then due by you to such Defendant, although the same or any part thereof may be payable at a future day.
