  1. All lamps must be kept properly burning from sunset till sunrise.

  2. The lessee must keep on each Jetty, if required by the Harbour Master, a Notice Board, placed to the satisfaction of the Harbour Master, containing the Scale of Charges, and any other Jetty or Harbour Regulations which the Harbour Master may deem necessary.

  3. The leases shall contain the foregoing conditions and other usual and necessary clauses of a lease.


The following sums were collected at Jetty-street Jetties and Stuart-street Jetty, Dunedin, during the year 1864, clear of expenses of collecting. The other Jetties have been free hitherto. There is a slight alteration in the mode in which the dues are to be levied under the lease from that which existed during 1864:-

NOTICE is hereby given that, by deed of assignment bearing date the 7th day of January, 1865, and made between George Henderson of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, and Colony of New Zealand, grocer, a debtor, of the first part; Thomas Brown of Dunedin aforesaid, merchant, a creditor of the said George Henderson, and trustee for the purposes hereinafter mentioned, of the second part; and all the creditors of the said George Henderson, of the third part; the said George Henderson did thereby assign unto the said Thomas Brown, his executors, administrators, and assigns, all and singular his personal estate and effects, whatsoever and wheresoever, whether in possession or in action, being all the estate of the said George Henderson, to hold the same respectively upon certain trusts in the said deed declared, for the equal benefit of all the creditors of the said George Henderson, as therein mentioned: And notice is hereby further given, that the said deed has been duly executed by the parties thereto of the first and second parts; and the same now lies at the offices of Mr. Main, Princes-street, Dunedin, for execution, by and on behalf of the creditors of the said George Henderson, parties thereto of the third part.

Otago and Southland District.

In the matter of the Petition of JOHN PLATT, of Saddle Hill, near Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, Farmer, a Debtor; and in the matter of the Petition of Dugald Cameron, of Saddle Hill, near Dunedin, in the Province of Otago aforesaid, a Creditor of the said John Platt to the extent of not less than Fifty Pounds; and in the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862.”

NOTICE is hereby given, that the above-named John Platt has, with the concurrence of Dugald Cameron above-named, presented and filed his Petition for the sequestration of his estate, for the benefit of all his creditors, and for relief according to the provisions of the “Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862;” and that the said Petition has been accepted by His Honor the Judge, who has appointed Monday, the 13th day of February, 1865, at ten o’clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court-house, Dunedin, for the hearing of the said Petition, at which time and place all parties concerned are to attend.
