PROCLAMATION,
Rescinding Proclamations by the Superintendent of Otago declaring certain Ports and Places beyond the Colony of New Zealand Infected Districts.
By His Honor John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago.
WHEREAS on the eighteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, I, John Hyde Harris, Superintendent of the Province of Otago, in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf, did, by Proclamation published in the Provincial Government Gazette, proclaim and declare all the Australian Ports, with the exception of Gipps Land and Mornington, to be an Infected District within the meaning of the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861.” And whereas on the sixteenth day of February last, in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf, I did, by Proclamation published in the said Gazette, proclaim and declare Gipps Land and Mornington aforesaid to be an Infected District, within the meaning of the said Act: And whereas on the 6th day of May last, in exercise of the powers vested in me in that behalf I did, by Proclamation published in the said Gazette, Proclaim and Declare the Colony of Tasmania and all the ports and places therein, to be an Infected District within the meaning of the said Act: And whereas it is expedient that the said three several Proclamations should be wholly rescinded: Now, therefore, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in me in this behalf, I do hereby Rescind, and declare to be wholly Rescinded, the said three hereinbefore recited Proclamations, and every part thereof.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Otago, at (L.S.) Dunedin, this first day of December, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
