MEETING OF THE NORTH-EAST HARBOR DISTRICT ROAD BOARD.—Notice is hereby given, that the first Meeting of the recently elected Board of Trustees for the North-east Harbor Road District, is appointed to be held in the School-room, in the said District, upon Saturday, the 19th day of November current, at 2 o’clock p.m., for the transaction of general business connected with the District Roads.

NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given, that in pursuance of the powers vested in them by the 9th section of the Education Ordinance, 1864, the Education Board have altered the limits of the Educational Districts of Hampden and Waihola respectively, and that the following is a description of the boundaries as altered of the said Districts respectively, viz.:

HAMPDEN DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north by blocks 9 and 2, Otepopo Survey District; on the east by the ocean; on the south by blocks 9, 6, and 7, Moeraki Survey District; and on the west by the boundary of the Hundreds.

WAIHOLA DISTRICT

Comprises all that area which is bounded on the north by Lower Waipori District; on the north-east and east by Lower Waipori District, the Taieri River, the Bush Reserve, block 6, Clarendon Survey District, and blocks 3 and 4, Akatore Survey District; on the south-west and west by Shag Creek, thence by the watershed of the ranges over stations S and J to Gorge Hill, thence to Horse-shoe Bush Hill, and thence to the boundary of the Hundreds; and on the north-west by the boundary of the Hundreds.

IMPOUNDED on the 14th day of November, 1864, by Constable Carter—1 Yellow and White Cow, branded J.3.; 1 Red Cow, branded EH over 3; 1 Strawberry Cow, branded D; 1 Yellow and White Cow, no visible brand; 1 Red and White Heifer, no visible brand; 1 Yellow and White Bull, no visible brand. Owners unknown. For trespassing on Main Road, and in default of being released, the above cattle will be sold at the Public Pound, at Caversham, on the 9th day of December, 1864, at 12 o’clock noon.

IMPOUNDED on the 2nd day of November, 1864, by Robert Meek—1 Bay Horse, small star on forehead, branded D on neck off side (owner unknown), for trespassing on the Oamaru Hundreds, for which the sum of £2 is claimed, and in default of being released, the above horse will be sold at the Public Pound, at Hampden, on the 1st day of December, 1864, at 12 o’clock noon.

RURAL CROWN LANDS, DUNEDIN AND EAST TAIERI DISTRICT.

SECTION 61, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri District (about 29 acres), having been withdrawn from sale, pending the settlement of a claim to part of the said section, and the said claim having been settled,—Notice is hereby given that the reservation of such section will be withdrawn on Wednesday, the 30th day of November, when the land comprised therein will be open for application.

I, HARRY WALTER PELLEW SMITH, do solemnly and sincerely declare that I studied Medicine for three years at St. George’s Hospital, London, that I passed my examination before the Board of Examiners, and became a Licentiate in Midwifery of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, and Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries in the year 1860, and that I held the appointment as Surgeon to the Fire Brigade, Dunedin, from November, 1862, to July, 1863, and as Medical Officer to the Relief Fund, Mount Ida, from September to December, 1863; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act passed in the sixth year of the reign of his late Majesty King William the Fourth, intituled “An Act to repeal an Act of the present Session of Parliament, intituled an Act for the more effectual abolition of oaths and affirmations taken and made in various departments of the State, and to substitute declarations in lieu thereof, and for the more entire suppression of voluntary and extrajudicial oaths and affidavits, and to make other provision for the abolition of unnecessary oaths.”
