In the Supreme Court of New Zealand,
Otago and Southland District.

In the matter of the Petition of WALTER HISLOP
of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, Draper, a Debtor; and in the matter of the Petition of William Graham, of Dunedin aforesaid, Merchant, a Creditor of the said Walter Hislop to the extent of not less than Fifty Pounds; and in the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862.”

WHEREAS the above-named Walter Hislop hath this day presented his Petition in writing to me, Henry Samuel Chapman, Esquire, one of the Judges of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, setting forth that he is desirous of surrendering his Estate for the benefit of his Creditors, and praying for relief according to the provisions of the “Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862,” and hath also made affidavit of such facts as have satisfied me of the truth of the matters contained in such Petition: And whereas it has been made to appear to my satisfaction that in the meantime, and until the thirty-first day of October, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four (being the day appointed by me for the hearing of the said Petition), it is expedient that the estate of the said Walter Hislop should be placed under sequestration: And whereas I did order and direct that the said Estate of the said Walter Hislop should be placed under sequestration in the hands of William Graham, of Dunedin aforesaid, Merchant, one of the Creditors of the said Walter Hislop, upon his entering into a bond, with two sufficient sureties, conditioned in a sufficient penalty, for the due care and custody of the said Estate, such bond to be approved of by the Registrar of this Honorable Court: And whereas the said William Graham, and John M’Clen, of Dunedin aforesaid, Wine and Spirit Merchant, and William Edward Armstrong, of the same place, Draper, as such sureties, have entered into the required bond, and all other conditions of granting such order have been complied with;-- Now, therefore, I do order that the Estate and Effects of the said Walter Hislop, mentioned and set forth in the schedule annexed to the said Petition, be, and the same are hereby, accordingly placed under sequestration in the hands of the said William Graham, and that the same shall be taken and held by him until the said thirty-first day of October, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, or until the further order of this Honorable Court.

Given under my hand at Dunedin aforesaid, this thirtieth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
