HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to grant Letters of Registration, dated the 26th day of August, 1864, under the “Patents Act, 1860,” in favor of Joseph Nicholson, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, Agricultural Implement Maker, (who has previously obtained Letters Patent in the Colony of Victoria, dated the 10th day of September, 1863,) for an invention entitled “Improvements in Mowing and Reaping Machines or Grass Harvesters,” with all the privileges thereto belonging.

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, has been pleased to delegate, under the “Diseased Cattle Act, 1861,” to the Superintendents respectively of the Provinces of—
- Auckland
- Taranaki
- Wellington
- Hawke’s Bay
- Nelson
- Marlborough
- Canterbury
- Otago
- and Southland,
the several powers vested in the Governor by the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 10th sections of the said Act, subject to be rescinded as in the said Act provided, and subject to the Regulations contained in the Order in Council of even date herewith.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that Henry Houghton, Esq., of Dunedin, is provisionally recognized as Hanseatic Consul at Otago.

Otago and Southland Investment Company, Limited.
NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at the next Session thereof, for leave to bring in a Bill to incorporate the Shareholders of a certain company, called the Otago and Southland Investment Company, Limited, with perpetual succession and a common seal, and to enable the said Company to sue and be sued in their said corporate name, and to limit the liability of the said shareholders, and for other purposes.
And notice is hereby further given, that copies of the said Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, within fourteen days from the commencement of the Session.
