In the matter of the Petition of Shadrach Edward Robert Jones, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, Hotel Keeper, a Debtor, and in the matter of the Petition of William Hunter Reynolds, of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago aforesaid, Merchant, a Creditor of the said Shadrach Edward Robert Jones to the extent of not less than Fifty Pounds, and in a matter of the "Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862".
TAKE Notice that the above-named Petitioner has this day, with the concurrence of William Hunter Reynolds, presented and filed his Petition for the sequestration of his Estate, for the benefit of all his Creditors, and for relief according to the provisions of the "Debtors and Creditors Act 1862," and that the said Petition has been accepted by His Honor the Judge, who has appointed Monday, the nineteenth day of September, A.D. 1864, at ten o'clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court House, Dunedin, for the hearing of the said Petition, at which time and place all parties concerned are to attend.

A PROCLAMATION,
Altering the time for taking the Census in 1864.
By His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight, Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand, and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS by "the Census Act, 1858," it is provided that the account of the number and condition of the Population of New Zealand, and of the Live Stock and of the Cultivations therein respectively, which the said Act directs to be taken in every third year succeeding the year One thousand Eight hundred and Fifty-eight, shall be taken in the month of December, and that the forms of Returns for obtaining the required information shall be delivered by the several Sub-Enumerators at the Dwelling-houses in their respective Sub-Districts between the First and Twenty-fourth days of December (both inclusive) in the years appointed, and that the said forms shall be demanded and received by such Sub-Enumerators on the Twenty-sixth day of December, or as soon after as practicable:
And whereas it is further provided by the "Census Act Amendment Act, 1860," that it shall be lawful for the Governor in Council to appoint any other month, or any other day or days for the purposes above cited in the year One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty-four, or in any or every third year after, instead of the month or the day or days appointed by "The Census Act, 1858," and the time or times so appointed by the Governor in Council shall be declared by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, and also that all the provisions of "The Census Act, 1858," relating to taking an account of the Population of New Zealand, and of the Live Stock, and of the Cultivations therein, shall, except as therein provided, be deemed and taken to apply to such time or times as fully as if such month, or day or days, had been specified in the said Act:
Now therefore, I, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of New Zealand, proclaim and declare that the forms of Returns above referred to shall be delivered by the several Sub-Enumerators at the Dwelling-houses in their respective Sub-Districts, between the Fourteenth day of November and the First day of December (both days included) in the year One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty-four, and that the said forms shall be demanded and received by such Sub-Enumerators on the Second day of December, in the same year, or as soon thereafter as practicable.
Given under my hand at the Government House, at Auckland, and issued under the Seal of the Colony of New Zealand, this Twenty-first day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
