Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862.
NOTICE is hereby given that a Sitting of the said Court will be holden at the Court House, Dunedin, on Monday, the 21st day of March next, at Ten o’clock in the forenoon, for the despatch of all business accruing under the provisions of the “Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862.”

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND DISTRICT.
In the matter of the Petition of John Cargill and George Turnbull, both of Dunedin, in the Province of Otago, New Zealand, Merchants, creditors of Henry Arnold, late of Inch Clutha, in the Province of Otago aforesaid, miller and sawyer, praying for the sequestration of the estate of the said Henry Arnold, and for relief;
And
In the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862.”
WHEREAS the said John Cargill and George Turnbull have under and by virtue of the “Debtors and Creditors’ Act, 1862” made and presented their petition to me, Christopher William Richmond, Esquire, a Judge of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, residing in Dunedin, in the Otago and Southland District of the Colony of New Zealand, praying for the sequestration of the estate of the said Henry Arnold, for the benefit of his creditors, and otherwise for relief under the said Act. And whereas the said John Cargill and George Turnbull have shown by affidavits to my satisfaction that it is desirable and necessary that the estate and effects of the said Henry Arnold should be sequestrated: Therefore I do order that the estate and effects of the said Henry Arnold be placed under sequestration in the hands of the said John Cargill and George Turnbull, upon their first giving security in the sum of Five Hundred Pounds by their joint and several bond to the satisfaction of the Registrar at Dunedin aforesaid of this honorable court, duly to account for all monies, goods, chattels, estate, and effects, which shall or may come into their hands under or by virtue of this present order. And I do further order that the said estate and effects shall upon the said John Cargill and George Turnbull first giving security as aforesaid be taken and held by them until the twenty-first day of March next, or until the further order of this honorable court; and I do further order and appoint the said twenty-first day of March next, at the Supreme Court House, Dunedin, aforesaid, for the hearing of the matter in the said petition.

SUBSCRIPTIONS will be at the rate of £1 per annum, or 5s. per quarter, payable in advance to the publisher. Single copies of the Gazette not to exceed 6d. Subscriptions can commence at any time, but must terminate not later than 31st December.
PRIVATE ADVERTISEMENTS will be charged by the Publisher at the rate of 6s. 6d. for every inch or fraction of an inch.
THE GAZETTE is published every Wednesday morning and Notices for Insertion must be received at the Superintendent’s Office not later than 10 o’clock on the Tuesday preceding.
